Juno Beach Centre (Centre Juno Beach)

Voie des Français Libres, Courseulles-sur-Mer, France, 14470

The Basics

The Juno Beach Centre opened in 2003 as a way to create a permanent memorial to the 45,000 Canadians who lost their lives in World War II and to preserve information surrounding their role in the war for future generations. Designed to appeal to both adults and children, the museum hosts both temporary and permanent collections made up of personal photographs, first-hand accounts, and artifacts presented alongside multimedia panels.

Many guided day tours of the Normandy landing beaches out of Bayeux, Caen, and Paris stop at the center in addition to other important WWII sites. If visiting independently, you can choose to buy a ticket to the museum or a combined pass for the museum and adjacent Juno Park.

Honoured to walk where our soliders fought for us.
We really enjoyed this tour and appreciated the Canadian viewpoint. Well organized and great communication. Smaller group was a great opportunity to get to know other tourists. Kids did well and we had no issues.

The trip to Normandy was everything we expected and hoped for. Our driver Jonathan was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We saw a lot but never felt rushed. A definite highlight of our time in Paris.

Canadians in Normandy D-Day beaches Juno Beach and Pegasus Bridge (3/7 pax)
Our driver and guide Adrian was so knowledgeable and easy to be with all day! We learned more about Canada’s role in WW2 and allies through this tour than any other source. Adrian had so many interesting stories to share that made all that we saw and heard that much more interesting. Highly recommended!

Our son is a big fan of history and has been particularly interested in WWII. When we decided to go to Paris, we knew we had to make the effort to get to Juno beach, so that he could experience what it might have been like during the war. Rėgis did not disappoint. We learned so much and loved every minute of the day.

We spent an incredibly moving day with our guide, Rėgis. His outstanding knowledge and his ability to share information in a meaningful way is remarkable - and enjoyable. This wasn’t a history class lecture. It was interesting, stimulating and moving. We went to Pegasus Bridge, the Canadian cemetery, Canada House, the Juno Beach Centre (where among other exhibits, an outstanding short film plays) and at the Ardennes Abbey. The last stop has to be experienced by everyone.

Le Havre Shore Excursion: Private Day Tour to Juno Beach Sector & Ardenne Abbey
Our tour guide was excellent and provided us with great information using maps and pictures. We found the plaque with our Grandfather/Father's name on it. Visited many spots and villages pertaining to our Canadian soldiers. It was a great day and received much more than we ever thought we would. We are proud of our Canadian soldiers and may they rest in peace.

The cool cafe. Strong booze. DD tank to the bottom but back up again. The bunker tour from a Jets fan. Tears, heartbreak and an appreciation of sacrifice.
