There are few better places to learn to surf in the UK than Cornwall, which is renowned for its scenic coastline and great waves. Learn new skills or develop existing ones with a surfing package that includes two 2-hour lessons, which can be taken in the same day or over a few days.

This private surf lesson in Newquay offers an intensive experience for you and one other person. Coaching is suitable to all levels, whether you are novices or looking to improve on surfing techniques; instructors asses your experience and tailor lessons to current abilities. With all equipment provided, this 2-hour lesson at Towan Beach is ideal for accelerating the learning process.

Our Family Surf Lesson costs £160 and includes: • A private 2 hour surf lesson for you and your family with one of our professional surf coaches (up to 2 adults and 2 children, or 1 adult and 3 children) • All equipment is included: wetsuits, surfboards and boots and gloves if its in the colder months • Use of the Escape Surf School facilties including hot showers and changing rooms

While it’s possible to learn to surf just by picking up a board and tooling around, it’s quicker and safer to learn from the pros. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or already learning to turn, this half-day course will help you navigate Cornwall’s surf safely and in control. Separate coaches look after surfers at different levels, ensuring rapid learning.

The Search Surf School is based In Falmouth, Cornwall and has been teaching people to surf for over 19 years around the world. We are also one of the few schools with an ex Pro Surfer/Wake boarder as Head Coach and Managing Director (our very own Mike Paterson) We love teaching complete beginners, but we also teach intermediate and advanced coaching. WE are the only school offering outback, progressive lessons and competition surfing with video analysis on a daily basis. Being a mobile surf school gives us the edge to take our clients to Cornwalls best surfing beach on any given day. Located less than 100 metres from the famous surf spot Fistral Beach, the South end of the beach offers learner perfect, less crowded waves. Our surf school provides specifically designed indoor changing rooms, separate male and female changing areas, hot showers for after your lesson and secure lockers to keep your belongings safe while in the sea. Our main focus is delivering fun, professional and informative lessons, getting you up and surfing with good technique, confidence and style. As an esthablished surf school for over 15 years we have years of experience in teaching all ages and abilities. We are fully acredited by Surfing England and the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority. All of our instructors are lifeguard qualified and hold a ISA/ Surfing England Surf Instructor Qualification. Our equipment is always updated and includes top quality wetsuits for all weathers and the latest in learner surfboards for all ages and sizes.

Woolacombe Surf Centre is Woolacombe's highest rated & qualified surf school & water sports provider! Professionally run & based in the heart of Woolacombe, North Devon. WSC is accredited as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ by Surfing England, the highest attainable level! All our coaches are fully qualified surf instructors & beach lifeguards with many years coaching experience all over the world, with a true passion for surfing and watersports. We operate our surf lessons on the beautiful Woolacombe Beach.

Sarah Whiteley grew up looking over Saunton Sands, right between Croyde and Braunton. After years at the top of the competitive surfing game (British and European Champion), she decided to return to her roots and give something back to the sport by setting up Walking on Waves Surf School. Chances are you could get lessons from one of Britain’s most successful female surfers. I believe in, and take pride in, working with surfers at all levels – from first attempt to competition coaching. There’s a joy that comes from seeing someone stand up for the first time that invigorates me every time. Equally, there’s a sense of fulfilment at helping someone nail a manoeuvre that they’ve been working on for 3 months.
