The Basics

Now run by the National Trust for Scotland, Culzean Castle and Country Park was the former seat of Clan Kennedy. Book a ticket to access the castle and the park in advance or pay for admission to the park only. Guided tours along the Ayrshire Coast from Glasgow also include the castle and surrounding park. Once inside, explore independently or take part in one of the twice-daily guided tours (April–October only). Visitors with a keen interest in Scottish history and heritage may opt for a National Trust for Scotland Discover Ticket, which grants access to 90 National Trust for Scotland attractions, including Culzean Castle, Culloden Battlefield, and Robert Burns Birthplace Museum.

It’s also possible for visitors to stay overnight in holiday cottages in the park, at the camping and caravan site, or in the top floor of the castle.

Ended up being the only one of this tour due to cancellations. Got a one on one with the driver - Fraser, and he was great. We kind of did the normal tour in reverse, to take advantage of timing at the Robert Burns Museum - - - a very informative tour from start to finish.

Culzean Castle, Burns Country & the Ayrshire Coast Small-Group Tour from Glasgow
Amazing tour! Even with only two travellers, the tour went ahead. Our guide, Juliette, was professional, accommodating, knowledgeable, friendly and funny. She conducted her tour and conveyed her information conversationally. It was a glorious day! Culzean is a beautiful castle, the Ayreshire coast glorious and all the information about Robbie Burns fascinating. Couldn't have enjoyed it more.

We love historical estates, Robert Burns home on one end of the spectrum, a meager living, to grand living at Culzean Park. Our first stop was to the Whitelee Wind Farm and visitors center. Has a small cafe, bathrooms, and hands on educational exhibits.

I have to warn you, if you do not know Robert Burns, this trip may be a little disapponting. If you do know a little about him, this is just the trip for you.

The trip in Airshire was very pleasant. The countryside was surprisingly beautiful, shame that many tourists do not travel in the Scottish lowlands. The guide was excellent, he obviously loves and knows the local history and culture. He even included appropriate songs where to discribe his storytelling. Wonderful! I recomend it!
