Great way to start our family holiday
This tour was an amazing start to our holiday in the Highlands. We got to see Clava Cairns, Culloden battlefield, Cawdor Castle and Beauly Priory and some friendly Highland Cows into the bargain. The weather was sunny and hot for the most part and the beautiful Cawdor Castle gardens were a highlight for me. We all enjoyed the reenactment of the battlefield at Culloden and the kids were fascinated by the video demonstrations of the old cannons firing. These are all amazing places and we would never have managed all this on our own on public transport. The best thing about the tour though is George who is a mine of interesting information that you would not find in a guidebook. For the whole of the rest of our tour of the Highlands someone would pipe up at least once a day ‘remember what George said about that’ (clans, salmon fishing and even Jimmy Page!) I would highly recommend starting your Highland adventure with a tour with George.

Half-Day Tour, Loch Ness, Cawdor Castle & Outlander sites Tour from Inverness
There was a bit of a mixup in the beginning about pickup and time. However our tour guide was fabulous. He was so knowledgeable and accommodating and pleasant. My family and I had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this tour. Breathtaking views and lots of history. I would definitely do again. Highly recommended.

Loch Ness,Culloden Battlefield,Cawdor Castle & Much More From Inverness City
This was a wonderful tour and exactly what we were after when we booked. Mike was a warm, knowledgeable, and energetic guide who always knew the best way to see each site. He was patient and flexible with our toddler's needs. Mike tailored our tour to what we were interested in (and, again, to our toddler's schedule) and made everything as smooth as possible. The sites were well chosen and the tour was a great way to see the Inverness area. In short, it was a wonderful tour and Mike was the type of tour guide you always hope you get! Strongly recommended.

Our highlander guide Jim was a highlight

BMW X5 SUV Cruise Loch Ness, Visit Urquhart + Cawdor Castle, Culloden + Clava
My sister Jenni and I booked a private tour of the Highlands so we could see as much as possible in one day. (This was a side trip on a longer London stay.) Our guide Jim arrived at Kingsmill Hotel in Inverness sharply at nine in the morning. He was nattily dressed in a kilt and traditional broad-shouldered black jacket. With charm and enthusiasm, he ushered us into a posh Audi to see Loch Ness and the ruins of Urquhart Castle straightaway. Inverness was romantically atmospheric with rolling fog and scattered sunshine. We enjoyed a tour and Scotch tasting at Glen Ord distillery and savored clotted cream shortbread on our way to see the Culloden battlefield and the mysterious Clava Cairn stones. Here, Jim gamely played "Jamie Fraser" to my sister's "Claire Randall" for the requisite Outlander photo. It was mid October and we had many of the sites to ourselves. The fall colors were gorgeous as we drove through the countryside to see the famous railway viaduct from the Harry Potter movies. We checked off every item on our Must-See list and loved the whole experience. We highly recommend Whisky Tours for customized day trips with friendly, bonafide Highland guides.

Invergordon Shore Excursion: Inverness City, Cawdor Castle and Whisky Tour
We had a good experience on this tour. Our Guide was Mo who was very easy going and knowledgeable. She went out of her way to explain the stops and help us navigate the areas. Our driver Sharon was also very nice. Cawdor Castle is worth seeing however we had visited about 10 castles during our time in the UK so there was some redundancy. The stop at Inverness was good but too short. ( 60 Min) You'll only have time for either a sit down lunch or walking around to see the city. Tough to do both. The stop at Loch Ness was along the side of the road and was not in a particularity scenic spot, still it was good to see the Loch but unfortunately we didn't see Nessie. The visit to Glen Ord Distillery was fantastic. As a scotch drinker it was great to see how the whiskey was made. Andy our guide at Glen Ord was terrific and there is an opportunity to taste and buy some of their single malts
