The Basics
The Jaipur Wax Museum is divided into different halls and galleries, which display wax and silicone models of former royalty, influential figures, and celebrities. There are also other connected attractions within the fort, such as the Sheesh Mahal, a beautifully restored hall of mirrors; visitors can dress up in royal Rajput clothing for fun photos and tour the fort’s beautifully restored rooms.
Many visitors stop at the museum while on full-day sightseeing tours around Jaipur. Guided tours will save you the hassle of arranging taxis on your own.
Things to Know Before You Go
Paid admission is required, and foreign visitors pay a higher fee than Indian nationals.
Tickets to the Wax Museum and to the Sheesh Mahal can be purchased separately or combined.
Travelers who are unfamiliar with Indian popular culture may not recognize the Indian celebrities, but they can still enjoy the surroundings and learn about Indian culture and history from many of the displays.
How to Get There
Nahargarh Fort is on a hill to the north of central Jaipur. If you’re not on a guided tour, the best way to get there is to arrange a private taxi transfer. Drivers will normally agree to wait for you so you have a guaranteed ride back down once you’ve finished at the museum.

When to Get There
The museum is open daily, from midmorning until midevening. The museum is air-conditioned, and as Jaipur can get very hot for much of the year, this is a great place to retreat to during the heat of the day or after enjoying some outdoor sightseeing.
