Malacca Crocodile Park (Taman Buaya & Rekreasi Melaka) Tours

A long-running Melaka attraction, Malacca Crocodile Park (Taman Buaya & Rekreasi Melaka) offers more than just reptile encounters. Besides having more than 100 crocodiles spread across several enclosures, there are mammals, reptiles, an aviary, herb garden, water playground, miniature Malaysia, and shows and rides on weekends.
The Basics
Buy an entry-level package to visit the water playground, animal encounters, and crocodile viewing. Upgrade to feed rabbits, birds, koi fish, and/or crocodiles. Don't miss the animal shows or cultural performances. For ease, combine a Malacca Crocodile Park tour with other attractions in the Ayer Keroh area, such as the Melaka Butterfly and Reptile Sanctuary, Melaka Bird Park, Zoo Melaka, Mini Malaysia and ASEAN Cultural Park, or Melaka Botanical Garden.
Things to Know Before You Go
How to Get There
The Malacca Crocodile Park sits among other tourist attractions in Ayer Keroh, a town in Melaka state, a little north of Melaka city. It’s about an 8-mile (13-kilometer) drive from the Stadthuys. Public transport is time-consuming, so it's easiest to self-drive, hire a driver, or join a tour. Most visitors come from Melaka, but some also travel from Kuala Lumpur.
When to Get There
The Malacca Crocodile Park is open from morning until early evening, seven days a week. To watch performances, which include snake shows, cultural displays, and crocodile feeding, visit on the weekend or over school vacations. While the park is quieter on weekdays, some attractions may not be open.
Reptiles at Malacca Crocodile Park
Besides the crocodiles that give the park its name, the Malacca Crocodile Park is home to a wealth of other reptiles. There is an enormous American alligator, caiman (a separate species, related to the alligator), and marsh mugger crocodiles from India—as well as an array of snakes and lizards in the Reptile House.
