Guests will start their paddle through the salt marsh, a popular feeding zone for numerous long-legged wading birds and river otters. 30 minutes in guests will notice a change in habitat, transitioning into Mangroves, indicating a change in salinity and elevation. This is where you will enter one of the best Mangrove Tunnels in the county. After numerous mangrove tunnels, creeks and ponds and hopefully tons of wildlife guests will then empty out into the Port of The Islands residential area. This is the last 30 minutes of the tour and you can expect to see alligators, great blue herons, possibly baby bull sharks, and hopefully manatees. Once you get back from the trip there are some great nearby places to get lunch and other activities that our guide will point out. The Ten Thousand Islands are a chain of islands and mangroves just south of Marco Island. Native Americans inhabited the islands for thousands of years, but are now uninhabited except for an amazing array of wildlife and untouched nature. We'll paddle and stop on different sized islands, and we'll find a boundless range of seashells waiting for us to show us their secrets - hopefully with some dolphins and manatees to keep us company!

CLEAR KAYAKS! We'll get you checked in right when you arrive to allow for the most possible time on the water! Once you're all checked in, we'll give some basic paddle instructions and information about the tour ahead. We'll get you loaded up into your clear kayak and off we go! The paddle will last about 2.5 hours depending on the speed of the group and any wildlife we may see along the way. We will be sure to take plenty of pictures and give some awesome unique facts about the area on our several picturesque stopping points! There will even be a couple chances for you to get out and enjoy the coastal beach views! We'll go through a couple mangrove tunnels depending on the tides. Be ready for lots of great local nature and wildlife along the way!

We are located on Lake Kelly. A small but beautiful lake full of fish. Something very special about the lake is that you will see the jumping Mullets. Many birds call this their home including Cormorants, Bald Eagles, Ospreys, and Herons and many more. There are Alligators in these waters but they are not that big and don't want to come close to humans. Most people have forgotten that we live in the Everglades. Here at Lake Kelly, you can see all sites and animals that live in the National Park and it's right in our back yard.

Your Florida Master Naturalist guide and US Coast Guard Captain will introduce you to the area's unique ecosystems, its history and its culture. Your final destination will be a remote, uninhabited island like Shell Key, Kice Island, Panther Key, Morgan Key or, may be, where the Gulf of Mexico waters are claiming the Dome Houses of Cape Romano.
