Since the ancient times until the middle ages, it was known as Dardania and included the territories of Northern Macedonia and Southern Serbia today. Kosovo is a country of geographical and cultural contrasts with a thousand years old diverse cultural heritage. There are nearly 11,000 km² and around 1.8 million inhabitants, a mixed population of which the majority are ethnic Albanians.

Great canyon is one of the biggest cave systems in the region and certainly the biggest in Kosovo and is one of the must see natural wonders of Kosovo. In the morning, after breakfast, you’ll drive to Junik to head for the hidden canyon in the cursed moutains and begin your hike. A challenging path takes you through forests and down the Junik Canyon that was discovered only in 2007 ! Spend the rest of the day through a wild and narrow canyon and enjoy your lunch in a beautiful spot. If we still have a little bit of time and energy, we’ll head to a spot very difficult of access, for an afternoon of relaxing and swimming in the blue eye of Junik !
