Night Safari at Singapore Zoo

7:15pm–midnight
80 Mandai Lake Road, Singapore, 729826

The Basics

The Night Safari at Singapore Zoo is one of the city’s top family-friendly attractions. During the tour, explore 86 acres (40 hectares) of the huge jungle park aboard an open-air tram, spotting nocturnal animals as they roam and play. After the tram ride, a guide leads you along walking trails such as Fishing Cat Trail, Wallaby Trail, and Leopard Trail.

Maximize the experience with an add-on buffet dinner at the Ulu Ulu Safari Restaurant or visit on a tour that also includes a stop at the Singapore Zoo, Jurong Bird Park, or the River Safari.

this is an experience worth having...
this is an experience worth having. The first criteria is that you must enjoys animals and zoos. That is it. If you meet that criteria you will love the Night Safari. The tram ride was not very long through the park, but you do have the opportunity to explore on foot as you can get off at various stops through the park. There were large crowds when we arrives, but our tour guide handled the tickets and got us to the right line where we had a relatively short wait to get to get on the tram. It will be dark so you will need special equipment if you want pictures, but regardless the tour is fantastic. Highly recommended. In addition to the park and shopping after, tour guide was very informative about Singapore, the people and culture on the ride from the hotel tot he park and back. This is not a lot of money for great value!

Night Safari Visit with Private Hotel Transfers
Our taxi driver Eddy picked us up on time and drove us to the zoo in a comfortably and clean car. Eddy was a friendly bloke, gave us 1 or 2 bits of ideas for other things to do while in Singapore. The zoo itself was pretty quiet on the night we went so there was no queue to skip. Once inside, we got on the tram ride around the enclosures which takes perhaps 20 mins or so. This gave us plenty of time to walk around and see a few of the other animals. The zoo isn't particularly big meaning there aren't a huge number of different animals but it was worth a trip out without being spectacular.

We re-confirmed our pick up time with the local company the day before and they picked up the wrong passengers from our hotel. At least they did come back30 minutes later to collect us after the Conceirge called three times. The rest of the night was very good with the skip the queue at the Zoo Night Safari absolutely worth it and Keith our guide was very good.

Night Safari Tour in Singapore with Priority Tram Ride
i reaqlly enjoyed this tour but i find fellow travellers the only thing that lets us down ...not listening and not looking. It probably wouldnt be as much fun in the rain , but we had cool clear weather. Our Tour Guide might need to get a better sign so people can see her... i was like a shark stalking her. Lots were not and in the crowds its hard to hear. The tour is the only way to go with the crowds, BTW!!

Night Safari Tour in Singapore with Priority Tram Ride
We really enjoyed the express tram pass that was really worth it. It was a really great tour, all be it a little rushed. Would have enjoyed a bit more time to see the fire show. Remember it is a might tour and no flash photos so enjoy the moment and not so much the photos.... worthwhile tour.

Great tour It was nice to not have to line up for the tram being a priority tour. The tram ride was a highlight, to see all the nocturnal animals close by.

When to Get There

The safari is open year-round; five tours run every hour starting at 7:15pm. Tours earlier in the evening fill up fast, so make sure to book in advance. Visit during a full moon when extra light enhances the safari experience, and be sure to swing by the lion and tiger feeding stations near 8pm and 9pm for a chance to see the big cats in action.

Night Safari Shows

At the park, visitors can watch a cultural dance performance by a troupe of Thumbuakar warriors, including feats such as fire-eating and flame-throwing. Another popular attraction is the Creatures of the Night show—a 20-minute educational showcase of nocturnal animals, during which travelers can appreciate the powerful jaws of a spotted hyena, watch the African serval display its ability to leap for prey, and see many more night creatures in action.
