Singapore Super Saver: Night Safari and River Safari
Two great experiences in one dat
, Feb 2020
Loved both of experiences and doing both the river and night safari made for a long day but totally worth it. Had extra time at the river safari so could do the extra boat trip around the lake. The animals looked well treated. The night safari was like nothing experienced before.
The program was OK to start, we like the River Safari, but less so with the Night Safari. Especially after the Night Safari tram ride, the tour guide asked everyone to stay for additional 1.5 hours or so to wait for other people who want to explore more (on our own without the tour guide service). While we were already very tired, we don’t see the reason to wait for many different groups of people to get collected together to come back on the same transportation. We finally decided to come back by taxi on our own expense.
Combine two of Singapore’s top attractions in one animal-filled day on this Super Saver. Spend the afternoon and evening at some of the most popular wildlife experiences in Asia—the River Safari and the Night Safari, affiliated with the Singapore Zoo. At River Safari, see more than 300 animal species from the world’s freshwater river environments, from Amazon manatees to Chinese giant pandas. Then head to Night Safari for a tram ride—with skip-the-line admission—past open habitats where nocturnal animals spend their waking hours. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included.
Wildlife and nature enthusiasts may be surprised by the animal-centric activities available in ultra-modern Singapore city. This easy day tour combines a visit to the Singapore Zoo and a River Safari experience. At the well-designed zoo, admire orangutans, elephants, and more, living in natural-like habitats. On the River Safari you’ll pass through recreations of eight different habitats, spotting pandas and monkeys at Asia’s only river-themed wildlife park.
Dinner buffet was decent with selections from many cultures, but limited withing the culture. I don't like the hotel pickup system because you end up going to a collection point and then put on a different bus. Same thing with the return to the hotel. Animal viewing was pretty good with very few animals not visible.
The Night Safari was a unique experience! This proved to be an opportunity to view the animals when they were at rest in the twilight of the evening. We got a chance to see the animals close up and you almost felt like you were intruding on their space. It was an exciting and pleasant evening.
Use your skip-the-line pass to the Night Safari tram for priority boarding, and spend your time exploring the nighttime rainforest rather than waiting in line. Just hop right aboard for a family-friendly journey into the world of nocturnal animals, including lions, tigers, and leopards in specially designed habitats. Disembark for a closer look along softly lit jungle trails, enjoy animal shows and cultural demonstrations, and feast on a dinner buffet. Round-trip transport from major hotels in Singapore is included.
This seemed like an interesting thing to do in Singapore. Can be done stand-alone or tracked on to a zoo visit or night safari. We just did the River Safari Experience that day.
Pick-up from and return to hotel offered and made the outing easy.
On the way our tour guide painted a picture of limited exhibits and long queues for the boat ride. Expecting the worse we were pleasantly surprised by the experience. We were lucky there were no queues that day. The exhibits were plentiful and interesting enough. The boat ride was fun.
This is also where you see the giant pandas. They are cool but not the highlight. The manatees are fascinating. All-in-all a good little tour, not expensive, and quite informative.
Lucky we had Siwa! After a very long wait for bus, which seemed the norm for Tour East, we were able to see this river safari followed by night safari. I recommend you do the 2 in one day. We had night safari on a different night, but luckily able to combine the 2. For someone who doesn't know it can save you time on your tour of Singapore. Zoo is also next door.
Visit River Safari in Singapore for a wildlife experience themed around the world’s freshwater rivers. Wander around multiple river habitats, from the Yangtze to the Mississippi, to encounter animals of all types, including the beloved giant panda. Learn about the native animals and plants that are found around the world’s legendary rivers, and take a boat ride on the ‘Amazon River,’ if you wish (own expense). Hotel pickup and drop-off are included.
Singapore Night Safari with Priority Tram Boarding & Return Transfer
, Feb 2020
The night safari itself was enjoyable, but getting there wasn’t great. The bus had seen better days, the seats were not secure and very uncomfortable. The guide was quietly spoken and I don’t think the microphone was working very well as I could not understand what he was saying, which was very frustrating. He did make sure that we all understood he would leave at exactly 10pm however and would not wait even one minute for latecomers. Disappointed.
The guide we had was fantastic- helping with transportation, getting tickets, getting fast tram etc.
The issue we had was trying to find out when our pick was, since no one called us or sent email as promised.
Firstly drivers were punctual. 2ndly the priority tram boarding got us onto the tram in less than 10mins. Thirdly enjoy looking for/at the wild animals rather than trying to get a good pic as ‘flashes’ are not allowed. Finally temperatures are slightly lower in the evenings which makes the walk around quite pleasant. Must add we had a great guide, Shiva 👏
Don’t miss the Singapore Night Safari, one of Singapore’s top family attractions, located next to the Singapore Zoo. You’ll explore the jungle park on an open-air tram, catching sight of nocturnal animals in authentically created habitats. Then follow a guide on a walking trail to see leopards and other wildlife up-close. You can also watch one of the nightly shows, and you have the option to upgrade to include dinner at Ulu Ulu Safari Restaurant.
Singapore Zoo with Transfer and Optional Breakfast with Orangutans
An excellent attraction.
, Feb 2020
Very well organised and comfortable transfer with an interesting talk from the guide on the way. Once at the zoo accompanied to restaurant and after breakfast shown to tram, then free to wander around on your own. Easy to get back to city at the end if you want to extend your time at the zoo as there is so much to see.
Zoo breakfast was a good experience however the organisation of ticketing was very slow and meant that we did not sit until around 9:20 to eat.
There is not enough time allowed to see all exhibits and return to the bus on time. There needs to be more buses scheduled. We had to take a public bus to MRT.
For a unique experience in Singapore, enjoy a Singapore Zoo breakfast with orangutans. If you choose the option, enjoy a jungle breakfast buffet in the company of a family of orangutans. These great apes are part of Singapore Zoo’s orangutan-breeding program, one of the most successful in the world. Snap pics with your new breakfast club and watch as they play around their habitat. Then take a tour of the zoo by tram to see the rest of the 3,600 animals. Not interested in breakfast? You can still purchase the zoo tour only.
See nocturnal animals in their element with a visit to Singapore's popular Night Safari, a park devoted to creatures that thrive when the sun goes down. Familiarize yourself with a bevy of nocturnal wildlife, from spotted hyenas and clouded leopards to pangolins and river hogs. The park includes both walking trails and a tram expedition that takes you through seven distinct geographical zones with commentary―just use your ticket for quick entry through the priority access line. Don't miss one of Singapore's most intriguing and worthwhile attractions.
Rayney was our Botanical Garden's tour guide. He walked us around Swan Lake and we saw many wildlife that he said was not normally seen by visitors, water hens, otters, squirrels, and shrews. He also told us about the trees, plants and shrubs as we walked around. We then visited the products of the forest area and went to the Heritage garden, and up to the rain forest and across to Symphony Lake. We know we only experienced a fraction of the actual gardens, but felt like we covered so much more with the guide than we would have on our own!
Tour the Singapore Botanical Gardens at your own pace on this private tour. Start at the Singapore Botanical Gardens Heritage Museum, and check out rare botanical paintings as well as plant specimens. Then, journey through the gardens with your guide listening to fun facts and interesting stories about the grounds.
We loved this tour. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and fun. We were surprised at how much we enjoyed Gardens by the Bay. It was awesome. Bring money because they give you time to eat on your own at the Gardens by the Bay. The night show was awesome. You are given time to explore on your own, just make sure that you meet back when you are supposed to. We left one female who did not show up at the designated meeting place at Gardens by the Bay. We had to leave her or we would not have gotten in to Marina Bay Sands before it closed.
Spend an evening out in Marina Bay on this popular nighttime tour. Start your tour with a traditional Singaporean dinner then journey into the Flower Dome or walk in the incredible Cloud Forest and listen as an indoor waterfall thunders at the Garden by the Bay. This memorable tour concludes with picture-perfect views of the Singapore skyline from atop Marina Bay Sand's SkyPark—ideal for first-time visitors who want to see it all once the sun goes down.
Our taxi driver Eddy picked us up on time and drove us to the zoo in a comfortably and clean car. Eddy was a friendly bloke, gave us 1 or 2 bits of ideas for other things to do while in Singapore.
The zoo itself was pretty quiet on the night we went so there was no queue to skip. Once inside, we got on the tram ride around the enclosures which takes perhaps 20 mins or so. This gave us plenty of time to walk around and see a few of the other animals.
The zoo isn't particularly big meaning there aren't a huge number of different animals but it was worth a trip out without being spectacular.
Catch sight of animals like giraffes, rhinos, and more on a ride through Singapore’s Night Safari, which bills itself as the world’s first nocturnal safari experience. A guided tour handles the tickets and makes sure that you get in the right line for the tram, in addition to providing valuable insight into Singapore. Opt to include private hotel pickup and drop-off for a seamless experience.
