Perhaps alight at Mermaid Quay — Cardiff’s bustling shopping district.
Our seasoned river guides will meet you at the famous paddle sports spot Mile End Mill, Llangollen. Here you will be supplied and instructed on how to get into our high-quality equipment in the nearby changing rooms. From here you will venture to our start point at Horseshoe Falls, where you will receive a safety brief and instructions on how to move most efficiently. Then it’s onto the good stuff, once on the water and after some proof that you can float, we will head down the twisting and winding rapids of the River Dee. There are three major rapids on our route to which our guides will be on hand to steer you through. The most famous is Serpents Tail, a tick off for most aspiring white water enthusiasts. There will be challenges and team-building tasks on the way down the river. With our charismatic staff, smiles are never absent by the end. We end up back at the Mile End Mill which gives you a chance to get changed and grab a cuppa before your departure.
We start at the south end of the aqueduct and soon enough you are paddling across this famous feat of engineering which stands at an impressive 126ft above the Dee River. Although this style of canoeing is deemed a calm and peaceful session the look over the edge is a breathtaking sight, but with our staff on hand, there is nothing to worry about, especially with a safe footpath on the opposing side. After this it is then a breeze down the canal, learning and developing skills across the way with some games and challenges thrown in. Our endpoint is the Sun Trevor pub which is a great location for some good quality grub and a cold drink.
Situated on the beautiful Anglesey coastline with breathtaking views as far as the eye can see. We meet near Trearddur bay where the BMA staff will be ready and waiting with a dry wetsuit and life jackets to keep you afloat through those rolling waves. After a short walk and safety brief we descend down to the water’s edge, hugging the amazing rock formations on the way down. Once there and a compulsory dunk in the sea we start our traverse around the famous Welsh coastline. With several jumps and duck dives along the way you soon become comfortable in this nature-filled habitat. Our guides will be able to offer geological and wildlife knowledge along the way, as well as making you feel safe and sound. With jellyfish, seals and other wonders, your eyes will be strained from all of the incredible sights. We have an epic cave for you to discover which displays the amazing force of mother nature, our exit is through a narrow gap which brings us back out onto our wave beaten coastline.
