Boating on the River Thames at Windsor
15
You will take part in a quintessentially British experience, boating on the River Thames. You will learn about barges, locks, and life along the river.
A typical cruise will start in Windsor where I will welcome you on board with a Cappuccino and a Danish Pastry. I will show you around the boat and chat briefly about safety procedures while on board. With that out of the way we will set on our journey. This will be your chance to slow down, relax and adapt to the pace of life on the river. A log fire stove and the gorgeous and tranquil Berkshire landscapes will help you in the process.
Boveney Lock will be only 40 minutes away and for those with no previous experience this will be a chance to familiarize with the procedure of 'passing a lock' and take active part with the handling of the boat and gates.
At St Mary Magdalene, a 12th century country church, we will moor up for an on-board light lunch and a look around. A riverside pub stop on the way back will complete the day.
