Their oysters are a pacific oyster (Crassostrea Gigas) and are available all year round. Smell the fresh wild Atlantic air and hear the soothing sounds of the sea. See the farm crew working hard in the water to grow the most perfect, meaty oysters. Touch the oysters when you shuck your own and finish your tour with the taste of a beautiful fresh oyster. The tour lasts approximately 1 hour and goes through the whole process of how the farm brings the oysters from seed right through to your plate. During spring tides, they run longer tours as you get to experience a seashore walk and see the different stages of growth in the water. The tours are suitable for anyone aged 6 years and up. We recommend that you wear water-proof and slip-proof footwear and dress for the weather of the day. Please note that this is NOT a private tour.

Ireland has perhaps, more than its fair share of ghost stories and few are more persistent than the grim tale of Connemara's haunted Bog Road. Take this scary tour to see if the tales are real? The Bog Road was originally the main road to Galway before the founding of Clifden. A guesthouse on the road, was the scene of many gruesome murders, which has given rise to many tales, mostly tall… As one version of the story goes, there was a hostelry here called the Halfway House. Back in the 1790s, it was run by a brother and sister who made a business of welcoming solo travellers and then murdering them, (at the stroke of midnight…naturally) and disposing their bodies in the surrounding bog lakes and pocketing their belongings. It is believed to be ghosts of these hapless victims - whose bodies the ghoulish siblings fed to the windswept bog land - which give this lonely stretch of road its spectral reputation - the tale of the Red-Haired Girl at the Inn is a folklore classic….

Explore nature walks in scenic Connemara National Park on the Wild Atlantic Way. The park covers 2.957 hectares of scenic mountains, expanses of bogs, heaths, grasslands and woodlands. The park's mountains are part of the famous 12 Bens mountain range. Entrance to the park is free. At the visitor centre view a fascinating exhibition on the Connemara landscape. A variety of safe and easy trail options are available for the whole family to enjoy, with more challenging tracks &trails for walkers, ranging from 0.5kms to 5kms. Come see the world famous Connemara pony. The birdlife is varied and includes Meadow pipits, skylarks, stonechats, chaffinches, robins and wrens. Birds of prey and wild red deer can be seen occasionally too. Lunch is at the Tea Room, situated in the park, consisting of delicious soup of the day, with homemade brown bread, plus a freshly made sandwich (plain or toasted), with 2 fillings of your choice, tea or coffee and a chocolate. This is a self-guided tour.

Named as 1 of the 10 most scenic routes to see in Ireland, this is an area of unique natural and rugged beauty and this peninsular is part of the Wild Atlantic Way driving route. Overlooking Clifden Bay to the South and Streamstown Bay to the North, this breath-taking 20km circular cycle route rises more than 150 metres above sea level and has spectacular panoramic views over the Connemara countryside, Atlantic Ocean, Clifden town, the islands of Inishturk, Turbot, Inishbofin and the majestic Twelve Bens mountain range. Starting in the colourful market town of Clifden, cycle out west and see the ruins of Clifden Castle, former home of John D’Arcy who founded the town. At the highest point on the Sky Road there is a car park and viewing area with plenty of room to park and take photographs. Cyclists then follow the coastline of the tranquil Streamstown Bay back towards Clifden.
