Schedule not as described - disappointing
Hilary_B
, Jun 2022
From the off we knew we were to be rushed as our driver told (as if it were a positive) that we’d get back to Belfast around 16:15 well before our advertised finish time of 17:00 We were supposed to walk down to Carrick-a-rede rope ridge but were told once onboard with the coach doors shut that our guide had cancelled last minute so the driver would do his best to give us info (which he did his best but think I’d rather a driver concentrate on driving) and that because the coach can’t fit under the carpark height restriction to the rope bridge we’d only be doing a “drive by” but not to worry we could take a photo from the roadside - really? We hadn’t expect the coach to take us to the rope bridge as the days itinerary clearly said we’d need to walk a 1km each way with the schedule allowing us an hour & half to do just that but instead again on we were rushed - get back in the coach we need to get to the causeway so “I can give you as long as I can there” The Giant Causeway was a beautiful sight and experience which made it all the more disappointing that we weren’t given longer there but instead a little over an hour so we could get on the coach to be taken to a nearby cafe for us to buy a lunch as a captive market. The food was nice enough and service quick and pleasant but from a limited menu that we weren’t expecting and arguably many in our group didn’t want why were we missing out potential time spent doing what we had signed up and paid for.

TOUR PROVIDER SCREWED US!
William_B
, Jun 2022
Got to the pickup spot well in advance, but there was no bus nor representative of the company. Ten of us were waiting. A few received an email saying trip was cancelled due to driver getting covid. (How convenient). The ten of us went to several other tour site trying to book a last-minute tour. Finally, four of us had a cab driver take us there and back at a much higher price. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE! Am now attempting to get refund. This is the first time Viator has ever let me down, after years of use.

Beware of Paddywagon tour provider
Donald_P
, May 2022
The tour destinations were worth seeing. Our tour provider Paddywagon, transported us in a 30 year old city bus which was not very comfortable. The tour guide was not very professional. The bus lacked a PA system so we had difficulty hearing anything he had to say from the back. Lastly we were looking forward to crossing over the swinging bridge. Our driver said that we couldn’t go there because it was closed. However, he took us to an overlook view of the bridge and sure enough there were people walking the bridge. It’s my opinion the company overbooked our tour and threw our accommodations together at the last minute. The company has nice coach buses, unfortunately our group of eight got short changed!

Great time
Joseph_C
, Apr 2022
This was a great time, mostly due to the fact that our tour guide was hilarious and super fun. At no point did this get boring, even during the long drive to and from. My only complaint is that the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge was closed so we couldn't visit. Apparently, it's been closed for a long time. We know that's not the tour's fault, but why advertise it as part of the package still? No one from outside of the country is going to know that it's closed until they get on the tour and find out. That's my only complaint, but it was otherwise very fun.

Ok tour but is NOT what Viator claims it is
Claire_M
, Apr 2022
Good tour, very pleasant and helpful guide, but you, Viator, need to get your facts straight. The entry to the causeway visitors centre is NOT included in the price. (£13.50/person)The rope bridge is closed for maintenance and will not open until 2023. These are the facts. You are miss-selling this trip. If I could contact you direct than I would. However, I see that several other reviewers have said the same already so I guess you're just ignoring this? Buyer beware.

The best tour I’ve yet been on!

The whole trip was absolutely amazing from start to finish our tour guide was the most funny, interesting, knowledgeable person, having the whole bus in laughter which really made the tour. The scenes and experiences where breath taking I would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone thinking of going! Do it you won’t regret it!

Misleading Advertising
Melanie_H
, Apr 2022
DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TRIP!!!! The advertisement clearly states that it includes Carrick-a-rede rope bridge. It does not!! The bus drops you a fair distance from there and you only look at the bridge from afar. Despite the pictures showing people walking across the bridge and description clearly stating that it is included. Completely misleading. Viator came back and quoted "closed due to covid" and refused to provide any refund, despite the false and misleading advertising. Also worth noting that they say "the only tour to include entry to Giant's Causeway". Again, misleading. Everyone can access it for free! There is a little information area where you can learn more about The Giant's Causeway which you need to pay to enter, however the centre did not know anything about our "included tickets". Keep in mind that the bus down the Giant's Causeway is not running (hasn't been since covid). Even though the bus driver told us we could get the bus down. Anyway, just overall very disappointed. We had done Giant's Causeway in the past and really joined the tour for the bridge.

Great day, but the rope bridge is closed

, Mar 2022
The causeway was excellent and John our driver was knowledgeable and entertaining. I think the tour operators could be more upfront about the fact that the rope bridge is closed at the moment. It was a major factor in us going on the tour and it's closure should be flagged when booking.

The driver Jackie was excellent and I through enjoyed listening to him and his music. However, there was no stop at the rope bridge as it was closed according to the driver. Additionally walking down to the causeway was free but access to the visitor centre, or audio guide would cost an additional fee of 13.50. this was not quite what I expected when I booked.

Giants causeway was amazing but the tour was mis-advertised and mis-sold as the Carrick bridge has been closed for the last 2 years due to covid. Also your admission to the experience centre at Giants causeway is not included in the price. Again mis -advertised.
