Overview

Spend your time in port wisely with a day-trip to Ireland's North Coast. Meet your driver at Belfast Cruise Terminal for a scenic journey up Ireland's Causeway Coast, known for its coastal cliffs, exquisite views and unique geological formations―including the Giant's Causeway, thousands of columns of layered basalt believed to have resulted from volcanic eruptions. Enjoy some exploring, then head out to see the precariously perched ruins of Dunluce Castle (and learn about its tumultuous past). Afterward return to Belfast for a bit of sightseeing before reboarding your cruise ship.
  • Belfast Shore Excursion: Giants Causeway. Dunluce Castle and city sightseeing tour
  • Make the most of your time in port with a scenic bus drive up Northern Ireland's spectacular Causeway Coast
  • Marvel at the Giant's Causeway, a unique geological formation that's also Northern Ireland's sole UNESCO World Heritage Site

Good tour guide (John Kelly), nice itinerary, good photo stops along the way. Also, a nice lunch stop after the Giant's Causeway!

Our visit to Belfast was excellent thanks to a memorable visit to Giants Causeway, which is a breathtaking place to see and hike. Our stop in the city of Belfast itself was quite brief, but we got a flavor for it, and our driver and tour guide in the "Paddy Wagon" gave us an excellent history of the economics and politics of the region; the bus itself was very comfortable, included wi-fi, and made the experience even more pleasurable. We would definitely book through Viator again!

John was a fantastic tour guide. Pickup at the cruise port was on time and easy. The Giants Causeway was an amazing sight. We toured downtown Belfast after lunch in a lovely small town. John gave lots of informative narration on the coach. He also entertained us with his Irish songs and jokes. I definitely recommend this tour.

Really enjoyed the beautiful Bushmills coast and Giants Causeway. Wifi on the bus was nice! Didn't know what to do with the time in Belfast...should have read up in advance. City Hall has great exhibit and tour which you should sign up for online.

I thought it was a great tour for the money. it was a great way to see the N. Ireland countryside. The Giants Causeway was a very unique geologic place with lots of cool stuff in between -. good value.

Excellent tour for less than the price you pay on the cruise ship. Tennent ( T. rex) was a skillful narrator of Irish history, politics and religion. I like his one liners. Would recommend it for anyone looking for an excursion

Our driver was 30 minutes late arriving to pick us up. He was coming from Dublin and ran into traffic. (If you're coming from that far away, you need to allow an extra 1/2 hour for traffic). When we arrived at the causeway, he gave us inaccurate information for entering. Wasted another 15 minutes. The area was beautiful and the self guided tour was good.We were supposed to have a Belfast city your as well, but he basically drove to City Hall and wanted to drop folks off to get a Black Taxi ride .(Which he kept pushing during the drive to Causeway. He basically was going to drop us off for shopping..no tour. Most of us just asked to be taken back to the ship. Driver is not uphold the reputation of Paddywagon Tours.

This was just an outstanding tour. Our driver Brian was really knowledgeable and entertaining. His knowledge of Belfast was excellent and we had a better than average experience. He allowed us time at the Causeway and then some beautiful sights of the countryside which is absolutely beautiful. We also had an excellent tour of Belfast along with a good historical perspective of Northern Ireland's place within the United Kingdom and what is going on today. It was better than average day for sure.

These tours follow the same program as the ship. However, please note that the ships excursions often include the cost of food and entrance fees, and Viator's do not.

We were called home and therefore, did not go on this excursion. It was a very unexpected call and we had 2 hours to leave ship. Consequently, we were not able to contact Viator to notify them of our situation and cancel.

I am not sure what I expected from this tour. The Giants Causeway pictures that I saw were rather unusual but I though it was just another natural anomaly. When we got there it was rather hard to believe. Natural geometric shapes everywhere that you can walk on and walk up to. I would suggest, however, that you plan to take the buss back up the hill. It is a long way. The tour of Belfast was also well done. Good choice.

OMG - We had the best day! Val was AMAZING... informative, funny, entertaining - The day was blustery, rainy but it didn't matter because our driver/guide was the best! He had us laughing, singing, chanting and enjoying every stop along the way! Loved the countryside and would love to go back to Belfast for more touring! Thanks for a great day!

We were on the Paddywagon through Viator. We were picked up and dropped off right at the cruise pier. The driver/tour guide, Leigh, was wonderful, with boundless knowledge about the history of Ireland. The bus was nice and comfortable and was easy to recognise. The sight of the Giant's Causeway was wonderful. I would recommend visitors bring along a poncho in case it rains and Irish weather is totally unpredictable and umbrellas are no match with the wind. Proper footwear is a must. The restaurant where lunch was organised for the group was efficient, food was good, hot and totally inexpensive. The tour of Belfast at the end of the tour was also wonderful. Like the rest on the bus, we thoroughly enjoyed the tour and it was money well spent. If you have just one day to do shore excursion at Belfast, I highly recommend this tour.

We saw so much of the countryside as we traveled to the Giants Causeway. The only negative was the lack of restroomsone when we arrived. We did spend a bit of time in line for that. You should be able to walk up and down hills if you want to see the causeway. The time there is not long enough to get the full experience. By the time you walk down, take a few pictures , it is time to climb back up the paved walkway. The landscapes along the way are breathtaking. We stopped at a lovely inn for lunch. They were prepared for us, so this went quickly. It is a very busy day, but you are seeing so much. Our bus was clean, the guide well informed, and the driver very capable. Our bus was at the port at the time indicated on the reservation. They returned us to port in plenty of time. In Belfast ,you see the highlights with a stop at Queens Quarters and city hall. I highly recommend any of the Paddywagon Tours. We booked several and were not disappointed in any of them.
