The Boston Duck Tour covers it all—from the State House in the Beacon Hill neighborhood to Bunker Hill and the TD Garden, home to the Boston Celtics. There’s Boston Common, a public park in downtown Boston and the oldest city park in the United States; Copley Square, a sort of public square in the Back Bay neighborhood; the Big Dig central artery/tunnel project; plus Government Center to Newbury Street, Quincy Market to the Prudential Tower and more.

That’s a lot, but that’s not all. It’s time for the duck to float—with a splashdown into the Charles River for a view of the Boston and Cambridge skylines.

Important note: Multi-lingual audio guides available from Prudential Center and Museum of Science departures only.

We took my South American in-laws on this tour starting from the Museum of Natural History and we all enjoyed it so much! Just read your ticket carefully and make sure you show up on time. We took a rideshare from the Boston Commons to avoid parking issues. The seats are randomly assigned to keep groups together, which I appreciated. There's no guarantee you'll get a window seat but, as someone who sat inside, you won't miss a thing! Ur guide, Lionel, was personable and knowledgeable. If you do require the audio guide make sure to ask your captain and your tour guide to turn it on right when they start the safety presentation. It took us a minute to figure it out but my mother-in-law said the Spanish tour was well timed. This is worth every penny (and a tip!) You'll have a blast!

    3rd Party Error Beware
    Dolly_D
    , Jun 2022
I called Viator customer service to request to change my destination pickup location from Museum of Science to Copley Place. I was told by Omar or Almer that after checking to see if that would be okay he approved the change. When I arrived to check in 45 mins before the trip I was told that the change was incorrect and that the 3rd party company [Viator]was in error. Luckily there was a vacant seat and I was immediately seated. I’ll never use Viator again!

The duck tour is awesome anyway but we got lucky, didn’t get the guide’s proper name but he played a Duck Tracey character, total laugh from start to finish and very informative. Having a guide as fun as that adds a little something to an experience that was already well worth it

If you are paired with the Marathon guy as the commentator, run the other direction!
    Lindsay_N
    , Jun 2022
We were with the Marathon guy and Captain Allen. Captian Allen was good, friendly, and no complaints there. The Marathon guy on the other hand, not a great experience. He was more interested in sharing his personal experience/growing up, that we would pass something before he would tell you what it was, it does ZERO help to find out what something is after you have passed it. When we went on the river, zero mention of the river name, learned it was the Charles after the fact, but learned all about him running the Boston Marathon twice as part of a team for the children’s cancer unit… and each medal he wears costs $9,000. He was obsessing about a fire that happened on Friday, and said, there will be so many lawsuits after that fire, still zero clue what happened, why there will be lawsuits, but that it was at a parking garage they are rebuilding. So scatterbrained, and not clear about what exactly we were seeing, and English is my first language, had it been Spanish like half our boat, I would have zero clue what was going on. He could rattle off facts, but almost as in if they were memorized to get the job, and he must cover a certain amount of facts. They did not make a whole lot of sense as they were told after we have passed something. I have done this tour in other major city’s and this is the first time I felt like it was not money well spent and walked away genuinely confused at what just happened.
