Ghosts & Gravestones Frightseeing Tour boards at the end of the Long Wharf Marriott at 200 Atlantic Avenue. Guests are required to check in 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.

This activity will end right where it started.
Boston’s original “frightseeing” tour is an evening of fear and fun. Climb aboard the Trolley of the Doomed for an experience unlike any other. Uncover Boston’s darkest secrets and hear the stories of those lost souls who many locals believe still wander the streets and alleys of this historic town.

Learn about some of the city’s most sinister characters, from Albert DeSalvo, better known as the Boston Strangler, to Jane Toppan, aka Jolly Jane, one of the most prolific serial killers in American history.

Walk through two of the oldest burial grounds in Boston, including Old Granary, the final resting place for many notable Revolutionary War-era patriots like Samuel Adams, John Hancock and Robert Treat Paine, plus Paul Revere and the five victims of the Boston Massacre. Also, visit the site of the biggest grave-robbing scandal in New England’s history.

Come with an open mind and see if any ghosts appear. It’s a ride on the dark side.
Itinerary
Stop At:
Ghosts & Gravestones
Step aboard the trolley of the doomed and join your host, a 17th-century grave digger, cursed with a sentence of eternal damnation. This wretched creature is doomed to travel the streets of Boston and relay the stories of the unfortunate souls he encountered and the macabre events he had been witness to during his purgatory. Hear about Boston's most sinister characters - from the Angel of Death to the king of all killers - the Boston Strangler. Learn about all the haunts that call the "Hub" their home. But that's not all! Step inside two of the oldest burying grounds in Boston for a walking tour you will never forget. Learn the significance of much of the imagery found in these 17th century burial grounds and the famous and not so famous (but even more interesting) occupants therein. Visit Copp's Hill Burying Ground in the North End, nestled atop the tallest point in one of Boston's oldest historic districts. Here you will visit the final resting place of Cotton Mather, a man famous for his "intimate" involvement with the Salem Witch Trials. Then to the Granary Burying Ground where you will visit the final resting places of many of the famous heroes of the American Revolution including John Hancock, Paul Revere and Samuel Adams. Remember that half of the tour is walking, so comfortable shoes are recommended (so you don't become "dead" on your feet)!

The whole experience was great! Perfect for a fall adventure! Our tour guide was great and the tour stops were so cool! I recommend taking the early ride so you can see the attractions in the day light and watch the sunset on the trolly tour. Warning there is a lot of walking! Oh a chilly fall day it was great but some may not like the amount of walking. All in all worth the cost! Thanks for a great educational SPOOKY adventure!

Disappointing

Was very excited about this tour on our trip to Boston. Unfortunately it was very disappointing. I purchased it for the trolley experience and ended up on a bus! Would have liked a bit more city history and less theatrics.
