Very uninteresting

Very poor hop on hop off. Bus stops without interest. Driver was nice but the outside organizer was very rude with us. Buses were over booked. Too many people travelled standing up. There were any space left. It was a very bad experience.

The tour was fun and interesting. Lots of details were shared about the old and new city. All enjoyed seeing the historical sites

Poor Planning
, Oct 2019
Our driver was good. the weather was bad. The company planned poorly for having three cruise ships in town. We could only stand and the windows were so foggy we could not see anything. I realize the company could not do anything about the weather, but they could have planned to put more busses in service. I think Quebec is a beautiful city, but I could not see it!

Enjoyed the tour... organized, smoothly run and information. Quebec City is charming and a lovely city to stroll and visit.
Old Quebec City tour

Doug was our driver, gave a great deal of information that was not on the narrative. Rode from stop #2 all the way around on got off at #8 the second time. When we got back on several hours later at #8 we were fortunate enough to have Doug as our driver once again. Great day with his help!

Trying to exchange voucher to individual tickets is very difficult. I will not book group voucher this way at all!
, Oct 2019
Viator should give clear instructions to to the whereabouts of the tourist info. I have a group of senior citizens and the tourism info is 15 min walking up hills. However, individual vouchers will be the right way to get, don't get a group voucher. It is a pain to exchange it into individual tickets!

This was a disaster!
, Oct 2019
Listening with ear buds is bad enough but our guide kept turning it on and off at the wrong times and sometimes talking over it. The biggest problem, though, was there were clearly not enough buses on the route. At the third stop we overfilled with people who had been waiting over an hour for the next bus. This continued at every other stop. Soon the bus was jammed with people standing everywhere. When the guide or ear buds said to see something 'on your left' all we could see were people standing in the aisle. At every stop there were more people to get on!!! We had to turn away folks who had been waiting a long time for the next bus, time and time again. It became commuting not touring. Back at the tourist center we took another one to get to a river excursion we wanted to see - just a few stops in. This time we had a real guide - what a difference! We would have stayed on and gone the whole route again but we preferred the river excursion.

Over crowed

, Oct 2019
Bus too crowded. If you get off you may not get back on with the next bus. We had to split up because 9 people would get off and the driver would only allow 4 to get on.
Extremely convenient & informative
, Oct 2019
Our guide was fun & on time for all stops! He was very informative & added fun touches to the information.
hassle free
, Oct 2019
We made many of our own reservations, independently from the excursions offered by the cruise line. Across the board going through Viator saved us on our costs. At one port we could not dock and it was not a problem getting a refund when we called from the ship explaining the situation. They are very helpful.

Not so good

The tour was not that informative. Too much esoteric info. Long wait for bus. Stops not clearly marked. Been on other hop on hop off excursions that were head and shoulders over this one.
Quebec Hop pn/hop off Tour
, Oct 2019
EXCELLENT TOUR. Guides was knowledgeable, tour on time short wait. Loved Quebec, reminded us of New England/typical European City. Many restaurants, taverns hill top park, enjoyed learning of the history of the city and its culture. Would recommend it to everyone. Good value!
Quebec hop on hop off.

Was a little hesitant to do this tour because I read some poor reviews on not enough busses, too many people/tickets sold. When I was there it was very cold but I was able to get two seats inside. Our tour guide stopped for us to get on right around the corner from our hotel, so no need to go to first stop (which I read on someone else’s review). Our guide was great! Speaking in English & French, he was funny and informative. I don’t know his name but remember he was from Columbia! So if one of his bosses is reading this please let him know! He warned that there might be a shortage of seats if lots of people showed up and recommend if we got a seat we like, ride through the entire loop and then Hop on hop off where we wanted to go to make sure we all got entire tour.
Nothing special.
, Oct 2019
Easy way to see highlights. We had to sit facing backwards so we could not see a lot. Also. Headset did not work for one of us. Guide did speak English very well.

Convenient to cruise ship terminal
, Oct 2019
Great way to get an overview of the city. It was great that a stop was a quick walk from our cruise ship, but buy you tickets online in advance. We moved to the head of a very long line and got right on the waiting bus.

When we got on at our stop, because it was lightly raining, the driver said there was no room below (every seat was taking and people were standing in the aisle). We had to go to the open seating on top. We were OK with that, but when he got to the 1st stop (the beginning of the tour), the bus sat there for over a half hour! And, the tour narration tape was not coinciding with where we were!! My suggestion is to not book it before you go unless you're sure the weather will ne good. It was a long, wet, cold 3 hour "ride". We stayed on so we could get back to our hotel.
Very informative
, Sep 2019
The day of our tour, the weather was extremely damp, windy and cold, so we stayed on and listened as the driver took us around this tour. We were able to still get great pictures thru the window and the audiotaping was very Informative.
Best from the Top Deck
, Sep 2019
Great tour for an introduction to Quebec. Busses run frequently enough to explore several areas of Quebec in one day. Make sure to pick up a schedule on the bus and learn where the stops are. Audio tour was informative, but if weather permits, the top deck is highly desirable as it is hard to see many of the points of interest from downstairs.
City tour
, Sep 2019
Although difficult to find seats during busy times, we stayed on the bus all day and enjoyed the tour.
Quebec City
, Sep 2019
The tour was great you were told were you were well in advance of arriving to desire if you wanted off to explore. Buses were spaced a half hour apart allowing you to look around and then continue on
Not enough buses
, Sep 2019
This company sold far too many places with great shortage of seats. Once you hopped on you did not dare hop off as you could be waiting a long time to get back on. Company needs to provide more buses if it wants to sell limitless places.
Great driver BUT...
, Sep 2019
....don’t buy a ticket for this bus when the cruise ships are in town. We waited over an hour to get on a bus and then it was standing room only. Apparently, this company is not prepared for this situation that happens all the time!!
Viator should not have booked any tours on the day of the bike race
, Sep 2019
Since most of the downtown area was blocked off due to the bike race, Viator should not have booked any tours. To compensate, they took us on an unexpected ride in an open top bus to Montmorency. Four of us ended up walking around the city upon our return. We feel we wasted 3-4 hours on a bus, when we should have just walked around.
Rainy day spoilt tour
, Sep 2019
Bus was full so could only sit up stairs in the rain. Confusion as to which bus we could board. Poor signage for hop on hop off buses. Buses didn't run to time table. Saying that good tour but got soaked wet through.
, Sep 2019
Great tour, but due to the amount of people on the cruise ship and people visiting, it was hard to find a seat on the top to see the city.
First time in Quebec
, Sep 2019
The tour was excellent. Patrick our tour guide demonstrated an excellent knowledge of the city, was cognizant of the various languages of passengers and did not rush anyone through the tour.
Enjoyable outing.
, Sep 2019
First bus was an older model, difficult to hear narrative with provided earbuds. Second bus was much newer, better sound quality. Beautiful views of this old/new city.
Must do in Quebec City!
, Sep 2019
Tour allows you to get oriented and relax as you travel through many beautiful area of Quebec City. Makes it easy to decide where to revisit later on your own time.
Would recommend!
, Aug 2019
This provided us access ability to see parts of the city we wouldn’t otherwise see! Stops were well marked and all worthy locations!
