Interesting tour but one of the worst guides we’ve ever had

None. The guide didn’t interact with the people on the tour, didn’t solicit questions. He knew his stuff, but was a poor communicator

Didn't see or learn much

The tour guide was nice, but we couldn't hear what he was saying, for 2 reasons. 1. He spoke low 2. There was so much Construction. And for 2 hours we only toured in a circle, We didn't see much of quebec city.

Great overview of QC

I enjoyed our working tour - most of the tour was concentrated on the upper town and our guide Guy gave a lot of useful information and historical facts. There were 2 elementary school aged kids in our group and they were not very engaged in the tour since most of the information was on architecture and history so I’d only recommend for teenagers and up. The only con is that the guide was not wearing a mic and at some parts of the tour it was a struggle to hear him clearly over the city sounds.

Guide spoke very poor English. Not informative and much of the information was incorrect. I learned more about Quebec from signage in the city. Waste of time and money.

Bonjour, we are very surprised and sad to read this review. We truly hope that all our customers enjoy their walking tour with us and that they learn a lot about Quebec City. To work with us, a guide has to speak English (French accents are tolerated, up to a certain point) and needs to obtain a license delivered by local authorities. To obtain that license, would-be guides have to undergo extensive training with anyone of the two local school of tour guides. They learn a lot about our beautiful city during that course. This is why we are very surprised to read this negative review. We definitively need to do a follow up with your guide. Please get back to us since you do not mention exactly when you took your tour or give any hint about who your guide was. You can call us at 1-866-694-2001 or, ideally, write back at info@voirquebec.ca Thank you very much.

Tommy was great! Knew a lot of history about Quebec City. It was evident he had strong feelings for his city. Sharing anecdotes about himself added to an enjoyable experience. Learned a lot about Quebec, despite the sudden deluge of rain.

Tour with Pierre
Connie_S
, Aug 2022
Our guide was very good and knowledgeable. Such wonderful history here. We enjoyed the tour very much. The only recommendation we would make is make the tour 1/2 hour longer. Pierre had to talk very fast to get it all in. With the language difference, sometimes it was hard to catch what was sad. That being said it was windy that day and we were the oldest couple (with hearing aids) it was a good day and well worth the effort to get there from Levis.

Bonjour, thank you for taking the time to write a review. We try hard to understand what is the best duration for a walking tour of old Quebec City. We consider that between 2 hours and 2 1/2 hours is enough. Some clients would prefer a longer tour (like you, it seems), some, a shorter one. I hope that you understand that it is impossible to please everyone when it comes to tour duration. At least we are glad that you enjoyed your tour and heard well!

We highly recommend this walking tour! Our guide Louise was very friendly and knowledgeable. You could tell she loved Old Quebec and enjoyed sharing the history of this beautiful place. She guided us through the major sites and also provided recommendations. We learned so much from her and left with a greater appreciation of the history and people. It was an excellent way to start our vacation!

Great overview of Quebec City history. Guide, Michael, was prepared and knowledgeable. We're in our early seventies and the walking was a little much for us but we managed. At least, we started in the upper town and worked our way down.

Great overview of old city. Jean was excellent guide. It would be good if guides had Venmo for tipping. I only had foreign currency and was unable to leave tip

Unfortunately it was difficult to understand our guide. I don't believe he had total command of the English language and he had a thick accent... his information was a bit inconsistent. The city is beautiful and the tour did show us parts of the City we might have otherwise missed. Not a total loss.
