Friendly driver and fantastic experience in Petra

The driver picked us up from our hotel at 7 AM as expected. The trip was 2 hours long and it was very relaxed. The driver spoke good English and was very polite. He left us in front of Petra and gave us money to buy our tickets (since he did not have time to buy the tickets upfront, I guess). He waited for us the whole day while we were exploring Petra (around 8 hours) and he did not rush us or anything.
My advice for Petra is to book a tour guide at the entrance (costs 50JD in total) but you can also explore on your own.
Disclaimer: Me and my girlfriend chose option 2 which at the moment of writing cost us 300EUR in total. A few days after the trip we realized that if we booked a Taxi to Petra (and back) from Aqaba we could have saved around 70EUR in total for this experience but if you are a solo traveler I think 150EUR is a fair price for this trip.
