Copley Square. Note that this tour does not return to the Starting Point.

Meet your knowledgeable guide in the morning across the street from Boston’s Old State House. Take your first steps along Boston’s iconic Freedom Trail, a historic walking path that snakes past many of Beantown’s most famous landmarks from the colonial and revolutionary-eras. Check out the stately Faneuil Hall and explore both Boston’s Old and New State Houses before stopping to pay your respects at the site of the 1770 Boston Massacre.

Continue by foot past the Old Corner Bookstore and King’s Chapel before heading toward Boston’s downtown area. As you head into the forest of skyscrapers, catch a few glimpses of the Boston of old along the way, including Boston Common, the Public Garden, and one of the world’s smallest suspension bridges.

Arriving downtown, gaze up at the John Hancock Tower before passing by the Boston Public Library and Trinity Church? Want to feel like a real winner? Make sure to take a ceremonial pass over the finish line location for the famous Boston Marathon. End your trip amidst the beautiful architecture of Copley Square.

Good tour although opening talk was right near the trolley bus stop so hard to hear everything while buses idled near by.

Sheila, I am sorry you had difficulty hearing. I always ask if everybody can hear when I start the tour with a Boston introduction that takes about 10 or 12 minutes. That way we can adjust your location or the my volume to make sure you can see and hear everything. Unfortunately, this is the first I heard of a problem..

Freedom trail walking tour

Ok tour- didn’t really do the freedom trail. Was hoping for more history. Never saw Faneuil hall. Unimpressed and went 30 minutes over time allotted.
icon Response from Host , Oct 2021
Faneuil Hall is actually across the street from where we start so I am not sure I understand your comment about never seeing Faneuil Hall. Unless you meant going inside - which we do not do (Faneuil Hall is not open when we start the tours anyway). We certainly do the Downtown Freedom Trail, which covers 11 of the Freedom Trail Sites (including Faneuil Hall!). You signed up for a tour that also includes Beacon Hill and Back Bay. Is that why you thought it ran over?

I was severely disappointed in this tour. I booked this tour to see the Freedom Trail, and our guide took three places off because he didn’t want to go there, and added places of his own desire. I was disgusted. Not only that, he was very sarcastic and added his own opinions to every fact. I would NOT recommend this tour to anyone.

Josh, I am sorry you had a bad tour and suspected that perhaps you took this tour with somebody else. I looked through the Viator and our databases for anyone named "Josh" since September 1st and found nothing. Could you please be more specific on what tour you actually did take?

The tour guide for the Freedom Trail should have had a microphone so everyone could hear what he was saying.
icon Response from Host , Oct 2021
I'm sorry you didn't hear well. I will remind the guides to check that everyone can hear early in the tour.

Informative overview of the area, congenial guide, good use of a couple of hours of free time in between meetings

Nice city walking tour!

Would like more historical sites and less of the architectural part, but Andrew was a terrific guide and it was a great tour. Well worth it! They should probably let you know in advance you do not end where you start. We ended at Copley Square.
icon Response from Host , Oct 2021
The title for the tour actually does say "...to Copley Square/Back Bay". Sorry you missed that. Most people appreciate the mix of history and architecture and believe it adds to the tour. Glad you thought it was a great tour in spite of that.

A Nice Day for a walking tour.
Ivan_S
, Oct 2021
It was a nice, cool day to do a walking tour. Though we were running late at the start of the tour, we we’re able to catch up with the group. This would only be good tour if the weather in Boston cooperates. Our tour guide provided us with a lot of information most especially the historical facts.
icon Response from Host , Oct 2021
A good tour trumps the weather any time!
