Glencoe is beautiful. Luckily it stops raining when we get on the cruise on Loch Ness and it is magnificent. We also got see the highland cattles as well. Expect a long ride on the bus but the stops are beautiful indeed. Tour guide and driver Gary is helpful who knows his stuff and is very funny. Overall an enjoyable experience.

Good trip. However, the two rest stops were far too short if you want to get food and use the toilet facilities. Excellent driver/guide.

A must when you’re in Scotland! Although it’s a 12 hour bus trip it is worth every minute. The tour guide, Jamie, made it very interesting with all his knowledge of the Scottish history. The landscapes are spectacular!

Hi there, Steven. Thank you for your review! It is a long day, but I definitely think that the amazing scenery on that tour makes up for it! I'm glad that having Jamie as your driver-guide made it even better and that he was full of knowledge about Scottish history. Hopefully you got some great photos of the spectacular landscapes and we will see you on another tour some day! Best wishes, David

A Great Day!

The bus ride was long, but our guide, Gary, was wonderful. He was informative and funny. The HIghlands are amazing. Glencoe is beautiful. LochNess was magical. We stopped for a quick lunch, then continuted on to LochNess, where we opted for touring the castle ruins and the 30-minute boat ride on LochNess. It was perfect. On the way back, we stopped for some whiskey ice cream. It was delicious. We really enjoyed the trip and highly recommend it.

Hi there, Bianca. Thank you for your review! The Loch Ness, Glencoe & the Highlands tour is a beautiful trip but it can be quite long, hopefully there was enough comfort breaks to keep it comfortable though. I'm glad that Gary was a wonderful driver-guide and that you found all the scenery beautiful. The add-ons of the cruise and castle are always a great idea, and that ice cream sounds fab! Hopefully we will see you on another tour soon to show you even more of Scotland! Best wishes, David

Good guide, long drive, too little time in the highlands
Jakob_W
, May 2022
Seeing the highlands was nice and also the guide was great, gave lots of information unfortunately Highlands where only 1 10 min and 1 5 min fotostopps, that is way to less, there is way to much time for eating, 30 min breakfast then 3h later lunch 45 minutes. That time would be better used on stopps in the incredible scenery of the highlands, u also just see starling castle from ur Bus seat while driving by in the distant. Driving for 9 hours for just 15 min highlands is a bit underwhelming. There should be a bit more time for that and less time spent eating in rather boring locations

Hi there, Jakob. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. It's great to hear that you found the driver-guide on your tour great and you enjoyed seeing the Highlands - they're really a beautiful part of the country. I'm sorry that you didn't feel there were enough stops in the Highlands, however, we need to be careful with the stops we choose to ensure everyone is kept comfortable and that we arrive in time to meet the optional extras and also arrive back to Edinburgh in time in case anyone has ongoing connections. We also offer a bit more time at stops for eating due to the fact that from time to time these places might get busy and we don't want anyone going without food. We do offer a tour that visits Stirling Castle that would allow you to properly explore it, so hopefully we will see you again on that tour some day! Best wishes, David

A fun and wild adventure with Gary of the the North
olivia_M

We went on a 12 hour tour 'Loch Ness, Glencoe & The Highlands Day Trip from Edinburgh' with our guide Gary. Firstly the make and break of a tour of this length is the guide and he was outstanding. I can't recomend this tour highly enough. If you're visiting Edinburgh then it has to be on your list of things to do, as you get to see, hear and experience Scotland's beauty and history all in a day. Pros Informative - our guide made the ride so incredibly interesting. He has a wealth of knowledge on the history of Scotland and kept us all entertained throughout! You will learn so much on this tour from various battles to key points of interests to famous and infamous figures in Scottish history. Entertaining - our guide would spot out the hairy cows when he saw them. I mean who doesn't like seeing the hairy cows. They remind me of the big blue hairy guy from monsters inc. Our guide - A bit like the infamous Rob Way, (you will learn about this character on the tour) our guide Gary is also a living legend. He knows so much and delivers the information in a way that kept us engaged and interested, by asking us questions (we where terrible btw, we hardly knew anything about Scottish history) and encourageing us to ask him questions. He was a gentleman, made us all feel welcome. The bus - Comfortable seats with usb charging points. Our bus had less than 20 seats which made the experience that much more exclusive between our group and guide. Plenty of stops - the tour has plenty of stops at breathtaking places in the Highlands for some of the best pictures you'll take. There's also enough food and drink, and comfort stops too. It was a pleasant ride. The scenery - This is what I came for, and it delivered. The natural beauty of the Highlands is incredible. Cons: Nothing, and I do mean that. An nteresting fact from the tour: Did you know that the name Braveheart actually referred to Scotland king Robert the Bruce and not William Wallace as the Hollywood movie of the same name would claim.

Hi there, Olivia. Thank you for such a great review! It's absolutely brilliant that for you, there were absolutely no cons to your Loch Ness, Glencoe & The Highlands tour. It can be a long day, but we couldn't agree more that when you have the right guide, it just flies by! I'm so glad you enjoyed having Gary as your guide and that he was full of information and kept you all engaged and interested throughout. The comfort of our customers is also super important to us so I'm happy that you found there to be plenty of rests and comfort breaks - and it's even better that you got to see highland coos as well! Hopefully we will see you on another tour some day to show you even more of Scotland! Best wishes, David

You can increase number of places for photo shoot. Few stops, especially for breaks were unnecessary long. The Driver Guide was Amazing and a very passionate person.

Solo trip to the highlands
Mayte_G
, Apr 2022
It’s a great way to make new friends. Our driver James was really nice and knew real nice facts of the highlands. It’s a really long trip, so I wouldn’t recommend it if you have a few days in Scotland. There are few stops and you spend more time in the bus, but still the look of the highlands are worth it. The lake was really nice, but if you can take the cruise and you get to see the castle.
icon Response from Host , Apr 2022
Hi there, Mayte. Thank you for your review! It's lovely that you were able to make new friends on our tour as a solo traveller. The Loch Ness, Glencoe and the Highlands tour is a long day, but you're right, the scenery certainly makes up for it! Hopefully we will see you again one day. Best wishes, David
