Your full-day tour through the Scottish Highlands departs from central Edinburgh in the morning. Meet your friendly guide and settle in for the northbound ride toward Inverness. Along the way, pass the dramatic Forth Railway Bridge—a UNESCO-listed bridge that once boasted the largest cantilever span in the world – and pause in Pitlochry for some tasty refreshment (own expense).

Continuing north, wind through Cairngorms National Park, catching lovely views of peaks and waterfalls rushing through craggy ravines. Soon arrive at the mythical Loch Ness, where you have free time to explore the surrounding countryside, visit Urquhart Castle, or grab lunch (own expense). Or purchase an optional cruise on the loch for some tranquil sightseeing and a cheeky search for the famed water monster, Nessie.

Next, continue your coach tour to Glen Coe, a glen of breathtaking beauty that boasts high mountain peaks, ridges, bubbling rivers, and waterfalls. Hear about the historic MacDonald clan that resided here and suffered in the brutal massacre of 1692.

From here, begin your return trip to Edinburgh, passing Stirling Castle on the way. Snap some photos of the historic site—former residence of Scottish royals including Mary, Queen of Scots—and learn about its colorful history, riddled with warfare such as the Battle of Stirling Bridge, led by William Wallace.

Then relax for the return ride to Edinburgh, where your full-day trip ends back at the starting point in the evening.

Great day trip! We've explored a lot of good views in the highlands and the tour guide is very accommodating. A must-do! (We're lucky that the weather is perfect as well.)

Good tour. Just enough group size. Our tour guide was very informative from places to movies and was funny, +A for his cheesy jokes too. My only regret is the rainy and foggy weather.

We loved the stories, humor and patience of Rory our guide. He made the long trip fun! Loved his list of bad Scottish accents from movies.

One day trip

Our guide was wonderful he looked after us and was very clear on instructions. Plus: amazing views, safe driving, stories, guide, good number of toilet breaks, slowing down next to attractions, pointing at things to take photos of, guide was very skilled at driving and I suffer from motion sickness yet due to his driving it wasn’t bad- if you have it take a pill due to the reasons below, there’s stops at the Loch Ness where amazing food is sold in the restaurant above the hotel and you have to try the ice creams by the entrance! If you put mobile phone flat on the window and take photos you won’t be able to see window reflections, Highlands are breathtaking and so worth the journey, you have to be on time back in the bus as guide have limit on driving time and it is very strict however he is clear on the break times and inform in advance about everything. It’s plus and minus that the trip is 80% in the bus and around 20 you are out and seeing things, stops are around every 1.5 hours: - stop with highland cattle with gift shop and toilets - 10 min - stop for 10min at the top of the mountain for amazing view of the lake (no toilets) - Glen Coe - amazing views right in the middle of high mountains - 10 min (no toilets) - Fort William - 45 min break there’s Morrison’s, Lidl, McDonalds not far and toilets. Nice place by the harbour to eat your lunch. If you’re lucky like us you’ll see a steam train - commando Memorial - beautiful place with stunning tribute to the fallen soldiers, very touching - 10 min break (no toilets) - Loch Ness - you can either take a boat tour or enjoy climb for panoramic views of the lake and great food at the restaurant- 1hour 40 min break (toilets) - one more stop on the way for toilet (make sure to take 50p coin to use the toilet) and there’s little shop in the corner where you can treat yourself to ice cream or buy something to drink - 10 min break Minus: no AC it is just slightly blowing the air therefor all of us were boiling insight, prone to car sickness as temperature was high inside the car, going quite fast and due to the roads turns it is easy to get sick, it is 12 hours tour but you have enough little and big breaks to stretch your legs, if you are bigger person you may struggle as seats are narrow and one of the passengers was struggling to put a seatbelt on, you travelling in a group of around 30 people and unfortunately we were around group of 4 who couldn’t stay quiet and show respect to the guide and was very loud and talking about inappropriate things in front of the kids. Thankfully one of the ladies speak up and told them to stop so keep in mind that you may end up with an idiots like that. I’ve listed all of the breaks and although it is a very long day it is worth it.

Left Behind

We were left behind. A 12 hour trip, prepaid, 5 minutes late arrival. No refund, no consideration.(We were confused by the construction trailers at the pickup point address provided). We saw the bus pulling away when we sorted out where the pick up point should be. I checked my watch, it was exactly 5 minutes after the pickup time. I called the tour operator (The tour desk inside was unmanned), and essentially told to suck eggs. No refund, "its not our problem, you were late". My wife and I have been on similar tours around the world, and we are usually the early ones patiently waiting for 5, 10 15 minute late arrivals. Not a big deal, easy to recover 10 minutes over 12 hours, that has been our experience. So, not only did we lose the cost of the tour, but it also ruined our day, and we missed out seeing the sights that was a priority for our visit to Scotland. oh, I should say that after asking to be booked on another tour, we were offered a new booking - after we were scheduled to leave Scotland. All very disappointing, I feel ripped off, poorly treated and if you are thinking of taking this tour, I hope you don't get left somewhere in the Scottish Highlands, where you can't walk back to your hotel.

It was great trip for us. Our tour guide was Allen (Highland Experience Tour), She was amazing story teller, because of her only we enjoyed our trip more than we expected. Scotland in itself is very beautiful words cannot capture it's beauty. To list of our favourite moment I would say drive through Glencoe Valley, Loch Ness was pretty amazing. We learned various things about Scotland all credit to Allen. Few things went well for us because of weather, there was not single drop of rain in our trip.
