The weather notwithstanding, it was a good trip. It delivered what it ‘said on the cover’. The guide Patrick Douglas was excellent and his commentary all through definitely was informative and added to the experience.

Heavy on driving, light on interesting stops

Jim was a great guide and driver, but I wouldn't recommend the tour. Without the stop at Inveraray Castle (which they don't state upfront is closed to the public in the winter), it's heavy on driving and light on interesting stops. Would be better if they had an alternate castle visit plan for when the main event of the tour won't be possible, and more scenic stops in the highlands, fewer gift shop/cafe stops.

Enjoyed the tour. Gary our tour guide is very knowledgeable & very nice guy. He made our trip jolly with some joke. I also would like to thank Gary, my husband dropped his phone somewhere & we knew he will never recover it. For some reason I called the tour company & inquired if they see my husband's phone. The guy who answered the phone said Gary is on his way to their office & said he found the phone & Gary himself brought cellphone in our hotel. Gary thank you very much again.

This was a great way to see the Highlands if you don't want to be on the bus for 12 hours. This is less than 10 and we were able to see a lot of the old backwoods of Scotland. Our guide Gary was friendly and such a gentleman. He showed us as much as he could despite of the rain and cold. The town of Inveraray was very nice. We had a very good meal at the George Inn with fresh seafood.

I took a few other day long tours in Scotland and this was by far the best one. The castles were interesting to see, even though Doune is under renovation, and the scenery was spectacular. However, the main difference was in the guide - Patrick! He made the day go so quickly with stories, music and patter - I was never bored and it was never too much. He stopped in small villages and let us stretch our legs. I truly appreciate his efforts, they made all the difference!

The highlands are beautiful. Inverary castle was ok. Nothing spectacular. Doune castle was underwhelming. The driver told us we couldn't be on our phones while on the bus, which I found was rather ridiculous. We're all adults and paid for this trip so if we chose to answer a phone call I didn't particularly see a problem.

This was a wonderful trip, in spite of the weather (rainy most of the day). Paul was very informative, very helpful, and full of many interesting stories of the local history. The scenery was amazing - and my daughter especially loved being able to get up close to a "hairy coo"! The stops were timed well and we didn't feel rushed. Yes, there are a lot of stairs in the castle, but even with bad knees, I was able to enjoy the tours - but I balked at the spiral stair up to the top of Doune Castle!

The trip was lovely! We traveled in a very nice luxurious and very comfortable Mercedes travel van. Our female guide made the trip! She was upbeat, funny, and told very entertaining historical stories during the lengthy rides in between the sites. It deff kept me awake and paying attention. It was raining, which changed some site seeing up a bit, but everything was just as beautiful! Such a breathtaking experience!! Would deff do again In the sunshine one day!!!
