Saved to wishlist!
The idea for the ArcelorMittal Orbit dates back to 2009, when London’s then-mayor Boris Johnson announced a contest to design a sculpture for the city’s Olympic Park, home of the 2012 Summer Games. Cecil Balmond and Sir Anish Kapoor, the creators of ArcelorMittal Orbit, won with their design of a continually looping red steel tower.
Your admission ticket provides entry to the tower's viewing galleries, which are reached by high-speed elevator and boast views across the city and surrounding 20 miles (32 km), depending on the weather conditions. Check out the innovation screens to learn about some of the London attractions seen from the galleries, such as The Shard, St Paul’s Cathedral and the venues of Olympic Park. When you’re done admiring the views, you can head back down to ground level via 455 stairs that spiral around the center column, allowing you to truly experience the constantly changing perspectives from every angle of the structure. (The Orbit is also wheelchair-accessible.)
Please note: Access to the Slide is not included.
