Overview

Tangle with the macabre on a ghost bus tour through London. With your ghoulish guide, visit notorious local haunts (so to speak) of restless spirits, and pass chilling sites of murder, execution, and torture such as St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Tower of London, and the infamous Fleet Street. Hear fascinating facts about London’s gruesome past and make key stops at the city’s eeriest landmarks.
  • See some of the capital’s most haunted and grizzly sites
  • Pass by top London attractions including Tower Bridge and the Tower of London
  • Be entertained by spooky tales, chilling legends and tales of London’s dark past
  • Travel around the city in a classic 1960s Routemaster with a Gothic twist

The nearest tube stations are Embankment and Charing Cross and both are a short walk from our pick up point outside the Grand Hotel.

This activity will end right where it started.
Choose a convenient evening start time and meet your guide near Trafalgar Square for a journey through the city’s gruesome history. Board the ghost bus—a 1960s Routemaster with its own dark history—grab a seat in the shadowy lower or upper deck, and peek out the window as your coach winds through the sinister streets of the capital city.

With such a long and bloody history, many of London’s most esteemed landmarks—such as the Houses of Parliament, St. Paul’s Cathedral and London Bridge—come with a side of infamy and mystery. Pass the Tower of London, where many tyrants (and the occasional innocent) met their death by ax, and Westminster Abbey to learn about the ancient royal tombs that were discovered there.

As you ride, hear chilling tales of London’s most prolific hauntings, deadliest diseases, and most depraved characters. Keep your wits as your guide recounts the Whitehall Mystery, a grisly murder case from the 19th century where neither the victim nor the killer were ever identified. Hear chilling tales of the black dog of Newgate Prison and of Sweeney Todd, the demon barber (and butcher!) of Fleet Street.

Your tour returns to the departure point with plenty of time to grab food or drink to warm your chilled soul.

The host he was hilarious and gave me a special birthday mention , I was looking forward to getting off the bus to visit old bones grave yard as this used to be part of the experience, we did have some loud foreign people sat behind us that was annoying as they talked throughout the whole experience

Very nice tour. Liked the history, and it was fun. Would have liked costumed characters. That would have been fun.

A bit cheesy, but a good time!

If you are a serious paranormal enthusiast, this tour is not for you. This is a rather cheesy, but greatly entertaining telling of the murders and executions in Londons long history that have resulted in various sightings. So listen to some spooky stories, learn a little history, see some cool city sights and be entertained while doing it all! Well worth the money and the time!

Cheesy, silly and fun

Cheesy, sill but good fun. Panto style way to spend an hour or so travelling in an old route master bus. Plenty of info and covering things you will have heard of and others not so well known. Booking and boarding was easy.

I would suggest this tour to anyone. It was an informative of some of the murders and infamous deaths in the city and the conductor was as entertaining as they come. He was a n amazing conductor, told the stories with clarity and super funny.

Ok

Not that interesting but bus ride was OK. Most of the stories were about people you wouldn't know and surroundings weren't things that meant much.

Boring night bus, not a ghost bus
Paul_Y
, Apr 2022
Not what we expected, more a night tour of the city rather than a ghost tour. Quite boring, tried to be funny but didn’t succeed. Some jokes quite inappropriate for the children on board. Also had 8 drunk women on the trip who were very loud, but for some they were more entertaining than the tour guide. Definitely not worth the money, and would not encourage any one to book on the trip. Been on ghost tours in other cities that were 10 times better. One word to sum it up, disappointing

The conductor made the experience good fun . All very tongue in cheek ! We thought there would be 2 actors as a woman in costume is shown in the website photo but misleading.

Disappointed Missed stops on tour and content not very good. Because of the missed stops we missed the info relating to those places interest. I’m afraid o did not feel the tour justified the costs .

It was not what we was expecting the bus and the host was very good we could of done we more educational stuff ie they say the ghost of a man haunts this place We did a ghost walk round London last year and that was much better
icon Response from Host , May 2022
Thanks for review. We are always looking for ways to improve the experience of our guests. The Ghost Bus Tours is a Comedy Horror Theatrical Tour and is delivered by a trained actor rather than a tour guide. It is therefore a very different experience to a walking tour which would be mainly fact based.

No ghost bus, left looking like ghosts freezing cold and utterly disappointed
Claire_B
, Dec 2021
One very disappointed friend on her birthday tonight as we sat waiting for the ghost bus for 2 hours in the freezing cold. An email was sent at 3pm that went into my junk box, this is far too late notice anyway as we had already made our way from Manchester to London to ride the ghost bus. as the email went into junk it was not seen.Because we waited we were frozen. We spoke to the operator of the Christmas light bus who said we couldn't even transfer our ticket to their bus as it was full. As London is extremely busy we then couldn't get a reservation for a meal anywhere so ended up back on the train to Manchester, freezing and utterly disappointed . Other passengers said they didn't receive emails at all, and children were crying at the stop when they heard no bus was arriving. We had planned on bringing a large group of friends next time to experience the bus, and had been telling people to book with you. But now we have nothing to report back other then how freezing, hungry and disappointed we were left.

Never using viator again
Sammi_D
, Dec 2021
I will never use Viator again. The ghost bus tour was canceled and of course I get a call while I’m still at the air port trying to get out. The tour company canceled the tour and I’m stuck paying for something I didn’t even get to enjoy.

The guy who was speaking was mocking and did not set the scene as we were promised, the microphone stopped working which I believe was due to the battery running out! This could have been avoided! So we missed out on the commentary! This was a gift to my daughter in law and we were so disappointed ☹️ we Travelled from Scotland and this was supposed to be the highlight and it wasn’t.....
