Before hopping on the ferry for the Statue of Liberty, meet your guide at Battery Park to receive your reserve-line ticket. Then enjoy the views of Manhattan and Staten Island from the ferry. Once at the statue, climb the 215 steps to get to the pedestal and enjoy the amazing views of the lower Manhattan skyline. Learn about the history of Lady Liberty and how it was constructed.

After, hop back on the ferry and make the short journey to Ellis Island, the immigration center where more than 12 million immigrants entered the United States from 1892 to 1954. Spend time exploring and be sure to check out the restored Great Hall of Ellis Island Immigration Museum and the many intriguing interactive displays. Later, return to lower Manhattan via ferry and indulge in lunch (at your own expense) before reuniting with your guide in Battery Park.

See the 9/11-related sites, including St. Paul’s Chapel, a place where New Yorkers gravitated to in order to bond and pray in the wake of the 2001 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. Inside there are many memorials, including hand-drawn cards, photographs and personal items. 

Here is the where the guided portion of the tour ends. But it’s where you get the most spectacular view of New York City and surrounding area. With your pre-reserved ticket, skip the line and head to the elevator of One World Observatory. Board the Skypod (aka elevator) and be prepared to elevate: in the 60 seconds it takes to get to the 102nd floor, watch an incredible video of the history of New York City and how much it has changed over the centuries.

From 1,250 feet (365 meters) above the city, take in the 360-degree views. Step into the Sky Portal, a 14-foot wide (4-meter) disc in the floor that shows the streets below in live HD. Then enjoy the many interactive options, including City Pulse, which shares stories of the Big Apple.

If all that viewing has built up an appetite or thirst, head to the 101st floor where there are dining, cafe and bar options. Spend as much time as you like checking out the view or feasting on food.

Tour guide didn’t show up for afternoon (world one tower) part. The liberty tour was great bc of Alvaro, but at the end of the day we were disappointed bc we made the trip up here just for the one world Conservatory. We waited for 45 minutes and we’re unable to get through to the “Walks NYC” tour group. The next day, we did speak to Walks and tried to get a refund/reschedule. Walks was unapologetic and said she would have to email me regarding a refund. Still haven’t heard back. Viator did what they could but be very careful when scheduling with Walks.

Both of the tour guides were very well informed about the points of attraction on the tour, but the instructions to the guests needs some work. We had to call the tour company twice to get more information about where the tours began and where we were to meet the guides. At the end of the Ellis Island part of the tour we were given a very vague map showing where the third phase of the tour began and had to call the tour office to get better directions. It involved a 25 minute walk through an unfamiliar city and as tour participants we should have been given better instructions and should have been warned about the fact this walk was involved and that the company would not provide transportation. Some of the people on the tour never did make it to that point and I hoped they got a partial refund.

Our visit to New York City was great. Our tour guide, Alvero, was great at keeping the younger kids engaged and interested. We did not spend much time at Ellis Island as we needed to get back to Manhattan for lunch, and to arrive in time for the afternoon tour. I think you probably need an extra day for visiting Ellis Island.

Worst company to work with. Been charged and never did tour. Stay away from this company they don’t issue refunds. Even if your flight is canceled due to mechanical issues. They Ruined our whole vacation.

Great to see these iconic locations. Unfortunately we did not receive information from our tour guide about going on to the afternoon tour if you had selected that, which we had and we miss out on that part. The afternoon guide caught up with us later on and provided us with our tickets to the one world viewing platform. Big tick to Amanda to catching up with us at the end.
