Escape downtown Singapore’s busy streets for a half-day getaway on Pulau Ubin, a small, tranquil island off Singapore’s northeast shore. On an eco-friendly kayaking tour, you’ll paddle through mangroves to watch for marine wildlife like water monitors, hornbills and maybe even pink dolphins. Enjoy the rural atmosphere of the island, and learn about the local wildlife and ecology from a knowledgeable guide.
4-hour kayaking adventure on Pulau Ubin
Kayak through the island's mangroves, and encounter abundant wildlife like jellyfish, kingfishers and even pink dolphins!
Learn about the biological and ecological significance of the mangroves' flora and fauna
Enjoy the expertise of a guide, licensed by the Singapore Canoe Federation
Your kayaking tour starts on Pulau Ubin, so you’ll need to make your own way to the small island from Singapore via a 10-minute bumboat ride. When you arrive, meet your experienced guide in front of the National Parks Information Kiosk.
During a tour orientation, your guide will outfit you with your kayak and necessary gear and demonstrate paddling techniques so you can safely maneuver your kayak on the water. Then head into the mangroves, paddling in pairs through the lush waterscape. Listen to your guide tell you about this marine environment and its biological diversity while you watch for wildlife like otters, jellyfish, hermit crabs and maybe even pink dolphins. You’ll also spot—or maybe just hear—bird species such as Oriental-pied hornbills, white-bellied sea eagles and black-capped kingfishers.
By the end of your kayak tour, you’ll have a new appreciation for Singapore’s native plant and wildlife, as well as the serene atmosphere of this rural island so close to the skyscrapers and bustle of downtown Singapore.
Interesting day out on Pulau Ubin. Go early as bum boats get busy. We hired bikes for the morning and completed the cycle tracks before kayaking. Tom was really informative and the paddle was interesting.
Amazing kayaking tour. Very easy to get from downtown Singapore To changi ferry terminal changi jetty about 30 song dollars . Bum boat ride is 2 dollars to the island but go early as lines for boats will get long. And although it may not say it on viatour but bring extra clothes as it is recommend you get in the water to test your PFD. You dont have to but you should. Also wear plenty of sunscreen as it is a long trip. And bring some water and snacks. Afterwards rent a bike for the day and tour the island. Climb up the trails and take in the views. This island is beautiful. Definitely make it a day trip
We really loved this trip. The only disappointment was that we were promised copies of the photo's taken by Ash. Unfortunately these have not arrived and I would really appreciate you sending these please.
It would be nice if they would offer a pick up and drop off Service for the future!
staff was friendly and fit. My Group was really sporty and fast!
They give you lots of Information bevor the tour start but not so much when you are on the water. It was raining but they didn't cancel the tour which i very appreciate!
This is a awesome tour! Its great to get out of the hussle and bussle of Singapore and actually see some wildlife. It is so quiet I actually felt I was in a Rainforest or something like that. Its well worth a visit and our tour guide was very knowledgeable.
Amazing, and excellent escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Didn't see many animals, only one monitor lizard but really enjoyed the peace of the mangroves. I was alone with the guide on my tour due to the Chinese New Year so it was a little quicker than the estimated time but was amazing.
