Awesome Experience in Taiwan

Just finished our 5 day tour of Taiwan. Loved the scenery, especially at Sun Moon Lake and Taroko Gorge, fabulous hotels too. The icing on the cake was our guide, Alan Chou, with his deep knowledge and love of Taiwan, his use of technology to help impart information and his friendly manner, helping to make all in our small group have a truly memorable experience.

Great tour in everyway. Alan Chou our tour guide was fantastic....informative and took care of all our questions and concerns. Hotel where all 5 star and a couple had hot springs in our room. You get to see beautiful coastlines, mountains and Taroko Gorge. Don't hesitate to take tour as it is a great way to see the best of the island for a great price. Our driver, Eason was experience and smooth, making you feel safe on the twisty roads.

Wonderful tour

This tour is a great choice for anyone who wants to visit Taiwan highlights outside of Taipai city that would be challenging to get to on your own. The hotels were all 5 stars, two included hot spring pools on site. The breakfast buffets included in the tour at the hotels all had a great selection of Taiwanese and Western food. The tour bus was older, but adequate. Our guide Eric showed us educational videos which were helpful for me to better appreciate the history of the sites we visited. I would definitely recommend this tour for a good overview of the country at a reasonable price.

Incredible! At first, I was a little hesitant to book this tour, however upon reading the reviews I became curious. Everything about this 5-Day Tour across Taiwan is world-class. The itinerary is very well organized, with a great variety of interesting stops along the way. All the hotels are five star and very nice. However, the tour guide, Alan Chou, really makes the tour special! He is engaging, funny, and extremely knowledgeable! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone that is seeking an exciting adventure throughout Taiwan. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

We did the same tour almost five years ago, Allan Chou the best tour guide ever! Went over and above as a guide and ran everything seemlesly and like clock work this is not a follow the guide tour. You get loads of info and then good amount of time to explore. Even organised a left item to be forwarded ahead to Taipei hotel before we got back from the trip. One word! Awesome...

We have visited many beautiful scenic areas, a famous monastery, few temples, night markets and National Parks in Taiwan. All hotels we stayed in were excellence. In addition, we were lucky to have a humorous, enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide Alan Chou. That made our trip extra wonderful.

Truly The Best Of Taiwan

This tour is truly hassle-free - booking this takes your mind and stress off of making decisions like where to go, eat & stay. Almost every detail is planned - just sit back and enjoy the trip. The 5-star hotels with breakfasts were excellent. We also had a fantastic guide - Alan Chou. He is informative, funny and easy on the eyes. (Do not leave him behind!)

This was a very enjoyable tour with nice hotels and an excellent tour guide (Alan). It provided full coverage of Taiwan (except Taipei). It would have been nicer to extend the stay in the hot springs hotels longer (2 nights vs. 1 night). We had a great group with a great guide!

WOW - EXCELLENT TOUR
Robert_E
, Oct 2019
Booked without knowing too much about Taiwan so wanted to get the best of our days there. We liked the look of the tour and boy we got much more than we hoped for or expected. The tour was so well organised from start to finish - not only the places where we visited (many of which I am sure you would miss if doing independently) but also organisation like getting our hotel rooms etc., which was painless and quick - unlike some tours where you wait in line at the reception individually. We were a bit worried when we saw there were 36 on our tour but in fairness it did not make any difference as you were not led around in a group but just pointed in the right direction and the tour guide on hand all the time for questions etc. The hotels were amazing, especially the first and last ones - we did know they were meant to be 5* but did not think they really would be, they put European 5* in the shadows! I have to make a special mention to both our driver (Crocodile?) who drive safely and purposefully and also a huge thanks to Alan our Tour Guide who was upbeat throughout the whole trip, kept us well informed on the sites, where we were going, toilet stops, details about hotels and restaurants so we knew what to do etc., His English was perfect, I have a hearing problem, but he was so clear and precise it was an absolute pleasure - a good guy, keep hold of him! Thank you Viator and Edison Tours, really appreciated such a great tour.

Fantastic tour with Alan Chou

We’re a family of four from Australia including 2 kids and this was our first organised tour as a family. Whilst we were initially a bit concerned, it ended up being an amazing and enjoyable experience for us. The trip was very well planned and included many natural and culturally significant sites in Taiwan. Our tour guide, Alan Chou, was very informative, considerate and highly entertaining which made the tour what it was! Before every stop, Alan not only told told us useful historical information of the location, but also detailed the food and amenity options. The hotels we stayed at were all 5 star with the usual expected facilities like restaurants, pool, fitness centre, free wi-fi etc. As well as this, two of the hotels even had certified hot springs. Overall, we would highly recommend this tour.

As it was our first visit to Taiwan, we spend first 5 days in Taipei, and then took the 5-day best of Taiwan tour. It was a great as we got to see a lot of popular tourist spots in one go without any stress as everything was well taken care of. On top of that, we got a really good guide, Alan Chou who was really on top of things and was funny as the same time. The hotels were all 5-star and we especially enjoyed the one at Sun Moon lake and Taroko gorge. The other 2 were a bit run down.

A thoroughly enjoyable 5 days. Alan (Chou) was an extremely knowledgeable guide giving background and a lot more than the basics - with a great sense of humor. The tour showcased Taiwan's many beautiful features and history that one doesn't realize exists, accommodation in lovely 5 star hotels with buffets showcasing local foods. There were eating options to suit all. Absolutely a highlight of my 10 day stay. Just excellent - would do it all again tomorrow!

The tour goes completely around the island of Taiwan and provides some outstanding scenery. Many of the places visited lack good public transportation so the tour makes getting there much easier. Our guide was knowledgeable and took us to see several things that a solo traveler would miss. The hotels were very nice and the food was excellent. We had to buy lunch and dinner but our guide had good recommendations for where to eat.

My family and I joined the 5-day Taiwan Tour booked through the Viator/ TripAdvisor website. I was persuaded by the excellent reviews and felt that I had to give it a try. Pre-trip communication was clear and concise. Pick up was prompt and courteous. Accommodations were 5 stars. We fully enjoyed the in-room hot springs on nights when they were available. Driver Mr. Lai made us feel completely at ease navigating the narrow passes of the Takoro Gorge. Our well-spoken English guide Eric executed a busy itinerary with perfect finesse and professionalism. He went out of his way to show us the best viewing angles and stops. His slide show of island culture/ food/ history was informative and helpful. His passion and enthusiasm for the island was heart felt. Overall the tour was an unbelievable value. We could not have asked for more. Kudos to Edison Travel. :) Well done!

Quite informative and Friendly

I booked this tour mostly for my husband as it is his first time in Taiwan and he doesn't speak/read Mandarin. I've personally went to most of the stops before, so I did not expect much from my end. However, Alan (our tour guide) gave information about the history of each location, the meaning of the name of each location, and the current state of each. It was much more informative than what I expected. This tour is fit for those who want to roughly see the ends of Taiwan. It is a very short trip, but if you have a short timeline, this tour would fit really well. One thing that I would fix in this tour is a bit more strictness for people who are late to return from certain locations. There are reminders on what time to meet at the bus and there were a few that were late quite often. It wouldn't be fair for those who were on time and waiting for those who are late. Other than that, the tour is well-paced, with 5 star hotels including breakfast buffets, and scenic views of Taiwan. I would totally recommend this tour to friends who have a short timeline.

This was a very good tour, with excellent hotels. If I could of fine tuned it, I would have skipped the visit to the Fo Guang Shan Monastery (too inauthentic) and used more time at Taroko National Park.

This tour is very well organised, and covers the whole island. Fair bit of travelling, but regular stops and interesting and informative sessions on TV screens in the bus. Very good hotels. Guide was pleasant and helpful and spoke very good English. A great experience!
