Itinerary
Stop At:
Keelung Zhong Zheng Park
The first stop on your half-day tour is Chung Cheng Park, the most ubiquitous tourism symbol of Keelung City. The park is situated on the hill at the east side of Keelung Harbor, consisting of three levels. The 1st level has a historic canon fort and several outdoor exercise equipments; the 2nd level locates the Buddhist library, the Keelung Martyrs Shrine and Zhuputan Temple, where the annual salvation ceremony “Chungyuan Pu Tu” takes place; the 3rd level is where the giant statue of Goddess of Mercy stands, the landmark of Chung Cheng Park, and also the biggest goddess statue in Southeast Asia. On the 3rd level, you can also expect the stunning panoramic view of Keelung City and the harbor.

Guihou Fishing Harbor
Your tour to Yehliu Geopark and Taiwan’s north coast continues with a visit to Guihou, a small fishing village, also the home to “Wanli crabs” (the wild sea crabs caught off Wanli District, New Taipei City). Every year during autumn, there are always large crowds flock to buy the fresh and live Wanli crabs in Guihou Fisherman's Market. Today, Guihou Fishing Harbor is known for Wanli crabs, and has become one of the busiest harbors along the north coast. If you are not visiting in season, no worries, the fisherman’s market provides various choices of fresh seafood with affordable prices. Even if you are not here for the seafood, you can get a glimpse of the rural life of Taiwan in this idyllic fishing village.

YehLiu Geopark
Finally, the highlight of your tour—Yehliu Geopark, one of the premier attractions in the northern coast of Taiwan, the home to a number of unique rock formations caused by wind and sea, such as the mushroom rocks, the chessboard rock, the trace fossils and all that. The most famous rock formation is the iconic “Queen’s Head”, a mushroom rock that resembles the profile of England’s Queen Elizabeth. Every year, the “Yehliu Night Tour” features light shows, water projection, etc, attracting over ten thousands visitors flock to see the Queen’s Head illumined at night. Our guide, Arthur, was very friendly and informative. We learned a lot. There was enough time to go around places.

Good experience in a small group half day trip

The trip started on time. we were only tree pax on the mini bus. The guide Christine was nice and explained about the places we went. Because of too short time we could see only two levels of the park. According to the guide to see the last view point would take 2hours of hike which we didn't have. So if you want to have a complete experience better go there by bus or local transportation and explore by yourself.

The price - quality was really good, as well as the guidance. The ownly downside is that you only get 1 hour to see Yehliu Park which is rather short.

I have enjoyed the guided tour to the Yehliu Park. The tour guide was very kind and helpful to us. They came to our hotel, and picked and dropped us at hotel. There was a separate driver along with the tour guide. It made the trip more safe and effective. I would like to recommend this tour service to my friends.

I was lucky enough to be the only one on the tour and get my wonderful guide James to myself. He taught me so much about Taiwan, the history, culture and language. He is very funny and speaks perfect English. The park was beautiful and the guide took lots of great photos of me. Perfect tour!

This was a really interesting, and recommended tour however would be better on a full day. The guide was very informative and helpful and provided key details at both sites. The rock formations are fascinating and the scenic coast wonderful. Excellent value for money but could have spent much more time at Yehliu Park.

It was a short tour seeing a temple at a high spot in Keelung followed by Yehliu Park. The park is beautiful but we did not have much time to explore. Our guide did not speak English too well and it was a bit hard to understand for my American friend. Not worth just to see Keelung - might as well join another tour which lets you have more time at Yehliu Park.

Worth it, although the tour appeared short because it was a holiday and people flock the geopark.

Pickup was around 8:15. One quick stop at a Buddhist Shrine and then on to Yehliu Park. Once there, we were taken inside the park and then told when to meet back. There was no mention that the line at the queens head was quite long. By the time we walked quickly to the end of the park where the queens head was located there was no time to wait in line to take photos. We only had 10 minutes at that time to walk all the way back to the park entrance to be picked up to leave. So really the tour simply a quick walk thru with no real time to do anything. Frank seems to be more interested in checking out his cell phone that sharing any information about the area. We were back by 12 noon. So the tour is only about 3 1/2 hours with maybe 45 minutes at the Yehliu Park. Very disappointed. I would not recommend this tour.

The tour itself was not too bad. The first stop at the temple in Keelung was not spectacular. The stop was more for the view of Keelung Harbour from the temple. The drive from Keelung to Yehliu Geopark was quite scenic. It was a particular hot day and not really conducive to walking around the park looking at the the natural formation of the stone sculpture. The reason for the 2 stars was the coach we were travelling in had to do another tour in the afternoon. Our guide, Jack, got a taxi for us and gave us TWD150 for the fare which was inadequate to cover the fare back to our hotel. That left a sour taste.

Nice way to see the countryside outside of Taipei - bus was comfortable and James was an excellent guide. Would have liked a bit more time to go a bit more slowly, especially to see the rock formations.
