Lakes Tour with a bias
, Aug 2020
Andy does provide an informative tour of all the main sites and is very reasonably priced however he needs to refrain from expressing his views on race, religion and nationality that made us feel quite uncomfortable despite making it clear that we did not agree with his viewpoints. We also did not need to hear about the many unfortunate deaths of visitors to the Lake District. It added a negative and morbid tone to the tour.

Dear Clare, I do not recall making any religious comments nor of race except in the references given to the presence of the Romans and the Vikings who shaped a lot of the history which makes the Lake District the interesting place that it is. With respect to religion, I think you may be referring to the Druids who are believed to have built Castle Rigg Stone Circle which we visited on the tour. In conducting tours over the years I have encountered many road accidents and many unfortunate incidents which are recalled to highlight the ruggedness of the terrain, the remoteness of the lake district, and the hazards people can experience by not following the Country Code. All this information is about life and events in the Lake District and not related to my personal opinions nor beliefs. I am, however, pleased you enjoyed your tour with us. The narrative was actually put across in a lighthearted way and in a jocular fashion. I remember you even laughed at my jokes. Thank you.
